High King Fingon was son of High King Fingolfin and brother to High King Turgon.
After his father was killed in single combat with Morgoth following the Battle of Sudden Flame, Fingon became the new High King.
His short reign of 16 years was marked with conflict, and he himself was killed by the Balrog Gothmog in the Battle of Unnumbered Tears. He was succeeded as High King by his brother Turgon.
