In the RoR Beta, the "Mounts" tab has been reorganized. Mounts are now organized by "type."

Aye, this is what I had in mind, though I haven't been able to copy my horse-collector over to Bullroarer yet to see all the categories. I suspect that some of these may be a bit narrow and some quite large. Anniversary Mounts, for example, might be a small page while Festival Mounts would be considerably larger. It'd be good if we had a somewhat complete list so we could figure how we want to proceed. Neum (talk) 20:04, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
In addition to those categories, I have "Standard Mounts" (with the Hengstacer steeds) and "Reputation Mounts" (with my purchased or bartered rep mounts). The Steed of the Hunter is included in Exclusive Mounts, and the Reveller's Gilded Steed and the Fireworks Laden Pony both go under Anniversary Mounts. The others I find in the categories where you would expect them to go. -- Elinnea (talk) 13:03, 19 September 2012 (EDT)

"mount" keyboard shortcuts

There are two keyboard shortcuts related to mounts.

  1. The keyboard shortcut to open the Mount UI panel is pre-defined as "Control+M"
  2. You can define a keyboard shortcut to "Dismount/Remount." This shortcut is undefined by default. This will always cause you to mount or dismount the same mount you previously used - goat, horse/pony, or War-steed.

verbiage comments

Before I forget... A good collection of information! It's a lot of work. It takes a lot of effort to capture the information and then to organize it into some sort of coherent form. I'm working up a similar collection for War-steeds. War-steed Tutorial.

1- typo in third line " Elves and Men are ride horses"

2- Since mounts come from many sources, I would say:

When acquired, mounts immediately become a toggled skill. Regardless of which mount you acquire you will receive the correct mount type for your race.

3- see previous note on Keyboard shortcuts

4- Mounted Interactions: This is presently NOT true. No class has skills which can be executed while mounted. In Rohan ONLY, classes will have NEW skills which can be used in Mounted Combat. (This will include healing skills for Minstrels and, hopefully, Rune-keepers. The RK skill is apparently bugged at present.)

I would change:

"Depending on your class and level, you may have skills that can be used while riding. Hunters and other classes that enjoy Swift Traveling can use these skills while mounted, and almost every class has at least one skill that can be used on a mount. Players can also be summoned and mustered without having to be dismounted."

To simply say:

Hunters can use their Wafaring Skills while mounted. Fellowship members can also be mounted when traveling via the "Hunter Taxi service."
Wardens can use their Mustering Skills while mounted.
Players can also be Summoned by Captains or mustered from a Mustering Horn without having to be dismounted.

I would change:

"No combat skills can be executed while mounted, as that would constitute mounted combat. Resource tracking skills can be toggled and put to use however, which is very useful for crafters."

To say:

Combat skills can only be executed while mounted on a War-steed in certain portions of East Rohan (Level 75+).
Resource tracking skills can be toggled and put to use while mounted, which is very useful for crafters. Note that you will be automatically dismounted when attempting to harvest "most" resources (ore and wood nodes). Certain resources (Scholar die plants, for example) still require one to dismount first before attempting to harvest them.

Mount Speeds:

See: User:Magill/Toons-mounts For a list of (I think) all of the "high speed" mounts. All other mounts have been 62% mounts, except for the Store "Exclusive" mounts, which, I think, are all 68% speed boos.

You can also purchase (or obtain via the Lottery) at least one "Mount Speed Buff" from the store. (20% Mount Speed (1 hour).

And by the way, originally your first mount was not available until Level 35! That is why the Founder's mount at level 20 was a big deal.

Just noticed, you should always use the nominclature:

95 LOTRO Point TP

so that folks realize you are talking about Turbine Points, not in-game gold... the Icon only is quite misleading. The same is really true for gold, silver and copper when used in narrative articles.

Oh well, enough for tonight... Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC (talk) 22:25, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
