I just wanted to say that I understand that on the quest-group-region topic I may come across as stubborn and square. While I think I am not it is also a side of being bureaucrat at the wiki, to brake rather than rush things. All of us bureaucrats are, or should be. Already before my time around here, and before most of the active editors, this wiki had grown wildly in all directions. Particularly so with the categories. One wish has now been to abide to less-is-more. And we have done pretty well by streamlining templates and stuff. Still there are lots of work to do ;) But if the arguments are solid and make sense, you will see things happen, maybe slow but in due time.

I notice your submissions around the place and I like what I see. Keep it up! ;) -- Zimoon (talk) 02:44, 28 May 2012 (EDT)

Quests and Chains

I love seeing your efforts and struggles with the changes and shortcomings we have, super-nice job. I tend to follow what is in some way linked to locations, which is my field, hence I am "stalking" you at times ;)

Regarding quest chains, which are extremely tricky, see Category talk:Quest Chains which gives some tips and hints. -- Zimoon (talk) 13:54, 20 June 2012 (EDT)

PS: I often keep an eye at prerequisites at Lorebook, so far they have been quite accurate and I hope that continues. DS. -- Zimoon (talk) 14:08, 20 June 2012 (EDT)

First off, nice job with all the changes you've been making lately. I've seen a lot of great contributions updating and correcting items and quests - as you come across them, I assume. It's great to make the wiki more reliable and hence more trustworthy. :)
I did notice a couple edits along the lines of this one. I don't bother to include those lines, since they're just a restatement of the objective text, and other quest folks I've seen around the wiki leave them off as well. It's nice to add in the billboard-style popup text in quests when it contributes something interesting, but we assume our readers are intelligent and don't need to be fed every bit of text that the game provides. It's not wrong, of course, just redundant, and perhaps not worth the effort. I'd prefer to keep down the clutter on the pages. -- Elinnea (talk) 23:34, 7 July 2012 (EDT)

Hunting for Sport

Hiya! Noticed you marked this category for deletion, and wanted to check with you about Quest:Venturing Forth which still references the quest chain. I've never done questing in Forochel, so if you could take a look and update as needed, I'll go ahead and delete the quest chain afterwards. Thanks! Sethladan 13:07, 9 July 2012 (EDT)

Liquid Threads

To get a wiki notification when on-line and someone adds something to your talk page, use "liguid threads" (LT).

  • Insert '''{{#useliquidthreads:1}}''' on your talk page.

Liquid Threads does have issues, but works well for the most part. Some folks don't like it because if the way it threads and indent's things "automagically" when displaying them.

If you want, move your existing Talk page (or any at any later time) to another page and, again if you want, add a line like:

Previous topics can be found [[User:Magill/talk-archive-1|under Archive 1]], or (newer) [[User:Magill/talk-archive-2|Archive 2]]

to the top of your page.

  • You can also check the box on your My Preferences/ User Profile page -- E-mail me when my user talk page is changed.
  • And if you want get really "cute" you can setup the Atom (RSS) Feed for you watchlist on My Preferences/watchlist.
  • You can also mark various pages to be automatically added to your watchlist on that page.
