The Withered Tree was an organization of dissenting citizens of Minas Tirith, who saw Denethor as a weak ruler and fomented rebellion among the citizens of the city during the Battle of Pelennor Fields.
The identities of most members of this cult were hidden, but many of the leaders were slain in the Silent Street while the city was besieged.
