Random Appearance

Seleflad has a very randomized appearance (as does Burginda); I've recorded two different skins in Snowbourn, need to check Edoras again, and in the neighborhood itself, my count is now five different skins. I've seen six different hair colors, six different hairstyles, two different faces (if only her face stayed the same), and five different dress styles (none of the repeated styles have the same coloring). I had hoped that in places like Snowbourn her skin would be consistent but this is not the case. I need to double-check Edoras again since I've only checked there once, but I don't have a lot of hope she'll look the same the second time.

I really wish they wouldn't do this with a named NPC . . . it's possible they may settle on one appearance eventually.

I have quite a few good shots but I don't know which one to use. There's one particular dress that has a pattern to the fabric and lots of detail, and I'm tempted to use that one since it's very pretty. Other than just picking one on a whim, I could . . . tally up about ten more appearances and then try to see which things appear the most frequently and try to pick one that's possibly more likely to randomly resemble the NPC a player sees in game. That could backfire, too, with no patterns appearing, or it being too small a sample size to matter. Anyone else have an opinion? --Rubythezombie (talk) 07:38, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

I think you should just pick one that you like, and then make a note on the page that her appearance is random. Thurallor (talk) 07:54, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
I sort of did both . . . I picked one I liked out of several after I tallied up about 60 appearances and tried to pick one with elements that were more common. (Except I don't like the most common hairstyle so I didn't use it.) I'm aware that was really more work than this deserved, but it was kind of fun. Thanks for your input, though, it helped me decide what to do.--Rubythezombie (talk) 08:37, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
