Carnen

The river Carnen (Sindarin for Redwater), is a river in eastern Rhovanion.

The Carnen flows from the red mountains surrounding the Iron Hills, with all six branches of the river eventually meeting up below Skald's Drop. Famously rust-colored througout its course in the Iron Hills, the rust particles eventually settles at the bottom of the river as it continues on across the Barding-lands. It keeps heading south across a long stretch of plains until it meets and merges into the Celduin coming in from the west. The joint river eventually runs into the Sea of Rhûn.
