Walkthrough & Notes

All progress is retained on defeat, or if leaving and re-entering the mission. Neither the Pûlpum Gate-captain's nor his accompanying Orc-archers respawn, upon player defeat. The stairway leading up to the gate is populated with Orc-warriors and Orc-archers, with characteristics similar to those in Mission: Defilers in the Dale: Orc-warriors in Aggressive stance have an interruptible, but infrequently-cast Savage Swing attack, for extra damage. Orc-archers in Debilitating stance have an interruptible, but infrequently-cast Disarming Arrow attack, which Disarms for a few seconds. This attack is only used from range. There are approximately 18 orcs on the stairs, so a few can be bypass/skipped along the way to the top platform. The Pûlpum Gate-captain is accompanied by 2 Orc-archers, one of which is in Aggressive stance, the other in Debilitating stance. Although not listed as a Twist for the mission, the Pûlpum Gate-captain acquires an  Twist: Inspiring Presence buff, which, in turn, buffs the Orc-archers, whenever they are in his vicinity.

Bestowal Dialogue 'You are to travel to the Dimrill Dale at once and defeat the Orc-defilers before it is too late!'  Twist: Gated Background 'Despite the failure of the Iron Garrison, the dwarves will not allow the Orcs of Khazad-dûm to spill forth into Azanulbizar, the Dimrill Dale. Objective 1 Defeat Orcs at the East-gate of Moria (0/12) Your mission is to defeat the Pûlpum gate-captain and Orcs camped at the east gate of Moria. Objective 2 Destroy the Orkish gate at the East-gate of Moria Your mission is to defeat the Pûlpum gate-captain and Orcs camped at the east gate of Moria. Despite its sturdiness, the gate splinters and crashes to the ground! Objective 3 Defeat the Pûlpum gate-captain and his guards Your mission is to defeat the Pûlpum gate-captain and Orcs camped at the East-gate of Moria. A heavily-armored orc and his followers issue forth from the East-gate! (randomly-selected) Pûlpum Gate-captain : 'Hah! Knock on our doors and this is what you'll get!' Pûlpum Gate-captain : 'Do we need to teach you another lesson? Moria is ours!' Pûlpum Gate-captain : 'You'll pay for this, <race>!' (As Pûlpum Gate-captain is defeated, randomly-selected) Pûlpum Gate-captain : 'Go on... finish it! It... won't matter!' Pûlpum Gate-captain : 'Don't... you... dare!'
