'Hullo there, have you come to compete in the contest?'

Wilkin smiles broadly.

'What contest, you ask? The one to determine who the finest forester in the Chetwood Lumberyard is - at this time. You will need to be a forester to compete.'

The man offers a deep nod of his head and continues.

'Aldith and I figured it was time to start looking at you younger folk to determine who will one day take on the daily activities of operation here. Now before you go all teary-eyed we are not ready to pack it in just yet.'

'We did decide that there should be a contest to test the strength, the dexterity, and the fortitude of foresters and then provide prizes for those that compete.'

'If you are interested, just let me know and once we have three competitors, we will start the contest.'

Background

The Combe lumberyard hosts a contest of strength, dexterity, and fortitude to help crown the winner of a coveted forester competition!

Objective 1

Aldith Bauman: 'Another contestant?'
'It warms my heart to see so many seeking the noble profession of forestry. I have entered you in my log.'
She chuckles.
'Now, let's see who else wants to register. Stay close by, and I will let you know when it is time to begin.'

Make your way to the competition table beneath the tree in the centre of the camp and refine wood with the forester's axe.

With the skins collected, it is time to move on to the curing them. Make your way to the stone wall on the far side of the camp and cure skins at the hide stretchers.

She flashes a broad smile.
'Sample beverages from the table beside my father's home and then collect a caber. Carry the caber through the red flags around the camp and finish at the blue flags!'
'The first one through shall be declared the winner!'
