Aeglos, or sometimes "Aiglos", was the legendary spear of Gil-galad, High King of the Noldor, which he bore during the War of the Last Alliance at the end of the Second Age. Known also in Sindarin as ""Snow-point", the spear saw battle during the Battle of Dagorlad and the Siege of Barad-dûr, and it's enemies were fearful of it. In the end however, it's power alone was not enough to protect Gil-galad from his demise at the hands of Sauron on the slopes of Mount Doom, and the great weapon was since lost to time...
With Sauron defeated following the War of the Ring, some wonder whether the famed spear can ever be found again in the darkness of Mordor...
