Stained Mervyl and their female counterparts, the Stained Merrevail, can be found carrying out the will of Lhaereth the Stained in Agarnaith in the Plateau of Gorgoroth.

The least powerful dwell outside of Seregost, deep in Agarnaith. Slightly more dangerous Mervyl dwell within Seregost ^{[48.8S, 33.4E]} and in the Mokál Rukh to the north-east.
