Welcome

Moving and deleting pages

If you look at the upper right of a page you will see "Read/Edit/View History/a star/a down arrow"
Mousing over that down arrow you should see "Delete Move Protect"
You should be able to move and delete pages.

I only realised the yesterday that I could move things. I believe only editors and above can delete pages, as I only have the option to move pages :? -Ketrez (talk) 13:42, 19 June 2015 (UTC) Edit: turns out only admins can Lotro-Wiki.com:Administrators

Decoration Items Index

Looks like a useful idea.

I'm guessing a modified version would be particularly useful for tracking a players housing info on a character page. (I can see how I could use it on my own pages, for example.)
  • Consider renaming it "Housing Decoration Items Index"
  • Add house type (Standard, Deluxe, Kinship) and location information.

Hey, I'm not 100% sure on this idea that I thought I had tbh. What I was originally thinking was to have this item index placed in the Decoration Items page under the slots heading and eliminate the need to have all the items listed in the many collapsed tables - Ideally I was looking at some way to improve upon the large item listing and reduce the potential load time and parser function calls. However the way I'm going about it is basically 'blind' while I am capable of learning as I go, the first way I approach may well be daft and not what is needed. However, Thank you Magill.

Skirmish-Weapons

I saw, you updated the Skirmish-Weapons. Nice work!!! Since the barter price offen changes, I made (used) a template for the Skirmish Armour do decrease the work in the future. Take a look in Skirmish-Medium Armour. I think, we also can use this template for the Weapons. The splitting of the page is, because of the maximum of the 500 Items per page (see Talk:Skirmish-Medium Armour). Barny (talk) 09:09, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Hey Barny, Wish I knew about this - wish I checked this tbh.. but definitely yes - If I understand how the template works
example:
| weapon-level-20 = {{Barter|Mark|4 Marks}}
| weapon-level-20-veteran = {{Barter|Mark|4 Marks}}
etc
would this be the way forward? I could do this over time. The only issue I can think of but don't know the answer to, as the template gets more entries over time will it also slow down loading? alternatively would it be better to follow the direction of that template and make a separate one for individual skirmish merchants?
Thanks for the info Barny, --Ketrez (talk) 12:14, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
Hey Ketrez, I think, it makes no difference of the loading time, if we use the same template, or a new. Yes the loading time of the page will increase, because the page has to load the template on several places. So, I wouldn't create a new template.
The second point is, shoult we create new points in the template (as in your example), or shoult we use for the weapons the same, than for the armour (the barter prices are exactly the same now?!?). Barny (talk) 12:07, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
Hey Barny, Check my sandbox I have done a small outline. Of the options I had thought, with a brief description - I would be happy to do either of the options I have written and I would slowly plow thought it and fix up the pages that would require it. Or If I have misunderstood, any other option is possible too, but from the sounds of it Idea 1? --Ketrez (talk) 03:18, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
My idea was your idea 2, with the old name "armour" to decrease the work, but with the risk of the barter prices never change between armour and weapons. As longer I think over this problem, I prefer more and more your idea 1. The lenght of the template shoultn't be a problem (see Template:Legendary Recipe for example Item:Crafted Beorning's Great Axe of the Third Age Recipe (Level 85) ). What you prefer? Barny (talk) 08:43, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
I like the name "accessory" for jewellery + cloaks (-:. Barny (talk) 08:46, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Alright, I will get on writing up the lines and checking the prices/names and placing them into groups, I'll then put a draft up on a test page and trial it from there. I expect I could have this done over the next few days following idea 1 :) Thanks --Ketrez (talk) 12:32, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Ok, so on my sandbox page under the test temp heading I have placed the added the template data and tested loading some of the data from another page I have the data being loaded. The only issue I have run into has been that the {{!!}} template thing isn't doing what it should do in the way that it puts all the data in one cell. Now I have tested this in edit mode with a proper page and it did the same thing. Either something I've done is broke or the problem is occurring because the data is coming from a user page instead of a template page... IDK --Ketrez (talk) 04:22, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
The Template:Trade-info also only works correct without your Under Construction! mark. Maybe it's a problem with the noinclude? Barny (talk) 10:10, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hey Ketrez!

Thanks for fixing the Shataz problem ^^
