Thornholt

The Thornholt is a landmark within Ered Mithrin, in Ered Mithrin and Withered Heath. It is a large pine forest that lies south and west of Skarháld and is home to Taurogrim and Ungoledain. It is split in two by the Forest River and a lake. The Men Angrún road runs through the forest, followable by the old dwarf-markers that run alongside it if not the path itself.

There are several points of interest within its boundary:

• Kêr Bréin - Dwarf ruins claimed by the Ungoledain west of the lake ^{[34.4N, 50.3W]}
• Skoghús - Beorning camp, east of the lake ^{[31.7N, 47.9W]}
• Óinsbridge - Dwarf ruins and bridge on the southern boundary of the forest. ^{[30.5N, 48.2W]}
