The Sixth Expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online MMO: Mordor
Standing Stone Games (SSG) announced the release of the Mordor expansion - the pre-order information can be found at: Mordor expansion The LOTRO Market (Turbine Store). Expected to be released the week of July 31, 2017. There are three levels of purchase. Standard, Collector's Edition and The Ultimate Fan Bundle!

- + LOTRO: Mordor expansion is scheduled for release on July 31, 2017. In the event of delay, you will receive the Mordor expansion content and items no later than August 31, 2017.
Important Additional Purchase Information
- Your order is processed by Digital River.
- This means that to complete the purchase, you must create a Digital River Account. This will be the first screen you encounter.
- At the completion of your purchase, you will see a screen displayed giving you instructions on how to redeem your code.
- Within a short time period, you will also receive an email from "Standing Stone Games - Order Confirmation (Order #nnnn)" - webhelp.v4@digitalriver.com
- If you do not see this email shortly after completing the order, check your junk or spam folders.
- The code is called "Digital Rights" in the email -- in the store screen it is called: "Unlock Code"
- This code must be entered in the on-line store "Redeem Code" box, and then click "Apply".
- Quit the Game, Launcher, Store (if opened in external Browser) and restart to enjoy the benefits.
- If you purchase the "Ultimate Fan Bundle" it includes a separate "The Lord of the Rings Online™ 30-Day Game Time Code" which uses the same code.
- This gives you VIP account access for 30 days when redeemed.
- A separate email from Xsolla "Redeem Notification No. nnnn" indicates that you begin your premium access when you activate the "Pre-Order" code.
- This code is not bound. You can pass it along to anyone.
- The Epic Quest line continues throughout East Rohan (Free. Does not require purchase of the Mordor Expansion.)
- Additionally, a new quest line is introduced: The Black Book of Mordor (Requires purchase of the Mordor Expansion.)
- Accessing further chapters of the Black Book of Mordor is contingent upon purchase of the Expansion.
- All three bundles will be available AFTER release!

- Can I purchase the expansion with Store Points?
- Mordor expansion will be available for Store Points after Update 22 this winter. Point prices will be:
- Base Edition (includes Mordor Region & Instances only): 2495 Points
- High Elf: 1000 Points
- How do I add the expansion to my existing LOTRO account?
- After purchasing the expansion, a product key code will be sent to the email address you used when completing your purchase. Log into the game and redeem your code in the LOTRO Store. You can apply your product key at any time before, during, or after Mordor launch.
- Special Note: For the Ultimate Fan Bundle, you will receive a second product key code for 30 days of VIP access. VIP access begins once you redeem the VIP product key in the LOTRO Store.
- I’m already a VIP. When does my 30 days of additional VIP time apply?
- If you’re already a VIP, it will be appended to the end of your current VIP term, pushing out your next billing date by 30 days.
- Am I allowed to give my VIP code to a friend?
- Yes. Make sure you are giving them the VIP code and not your Expansion code by mistake!
- When and how do I get my Expansion bonus items?
- Expansion bonus items will arrive on Mordor launch day after the game worlds re-open and your game client has updated with the Mordor content.
- If I don’t pre-purchase the expansion, can I still buy the expansion bonus items at a later time?
- At this time, the Standard Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Ultimate Fan Bundle will remain available after Mordor’s launch day.
- While the expansions will still be available in the LOTRO Market, please note that you will be unable to purchase the additional exclusive items through the LOTRO Store for store points.
- How many Aria of the Valars will I get with my Expansion purchase?
- On Mordor launch day, you will receive one Aria of the Valar for your account on the first character that you log into. The Aria of the Valar is bound to account. Once opened, it binds to character.
- I pre-purchased the expansion but I didn’t get a product key, where is it?
- Your product key will be sent to the email address you used when completing your purchase. Remember to check your Spam / Junk mail folders.
- What are the New Relics listed in the Ultimate Fan-Bundle?
- These are new Mordor relics with new stats. The Legendary item relics you get will be based on your class and have a minimum level of 100. You will receive an Expedition named Setting, Gem and Rune.
- What is the Housing Teleport Item listed in the Ultimate Fan-Bundle?
- Housing decoration that is literally a Mysterious Door that will take you to Mordor. Anyone with visitation and decoration usage permissions in a house will be able to use this item. As a housing item this will be bound to account.
- What is the XP Bonus Item listed in the Ultimate Fan-Bundle?
- An earring of your choice (might, agility or will) with stats that increase as your level increases. Provides +25% experience gain on monster kills, crafting and quest completions through level 105. This xp boost WILL stack with the Shield of the Hammerhand and previous pocket items like the Gift of the Hornburg. Also provides +25% Legendary Item and Mounted Combat XP. The item and mount xp boost will NOT stack with the Shield of the Hammerhand’s equivalent effect.
- What do the Kites in the Expansion Bundles look like?
- Mordor Themed Kite: "Noble Eagle Kite" is available in the Ultimate-Fan Bundle.
Alliance Themed Kite: "Hopeful Swan Kite" is in both the Collector’s and Ultimate-Fan Bundles.

Housing teleportation
- This item is part of the
Mordor Ultimate Fan Bundle - Bonus Items from the Mordor expansion (Update 21) pre-release bundle.
- (Referred to in the bundle as "Exclusive Housing Teleport for all characters!")
- Once the bundle is used (opened) each character on the account receives a copy of this item,
Mysterious Door, bound to each character.
- The Housing teleportation item is a "Door from Mordor". It is a large-wall, housing decoration item which, when installed, will transport any character (who has Housing "Visitation", and "Use Decoration" privileges) to the Ruins of Dingarth in Dor Amarth on the Plateau of Gorgoroth in Mordor.
XP accelerator
- This item is contained within the Mordor Ultimate Fan Bundle - Bonus Items from the Mordor expansion (Update 21) pre-release bundle.
- (Referred to in the bundle as "Equippable XP Accelerator for all characters!")
- Once the bundle is used (opened) each character on the account receives a copy of this item,
Gifts from the High Elves, bound to each character. - When used, the Gifts from the High Elves, offers an earring of your choice (Might, Agility, Will) with stats that increase along with your level. This xp boost WILL stack with the
Shield of the Hammerhand and previous pocket items like the Gift of the Hornburg. - NOTE: This boost also provides +25% Legendary Item and Mounted Combat XP. The item and mount xp boost will NOT stack with the Shield of the Hammerhand’s equivalent effect.
- Good to level 105.
- Each item grants the effects:
Gift of the High Elves Grants a bonus to Character experience until the character reaches level 105.
+25% Experience Gain on Monster Kills, Crafting and Quest Completions.- Gift of the High Elves Grants a bonus to Legendary Item and War-steed experience until the character reaches level 105.

Aria of the Valar

- I believe it will be available in the store, though I don't know the details on pricing or dates of availability.
- The package itself is very similar to the previous Valar package, but it's updated to level 105, with new teleport destinations putting you on the border of Mordor and has a full outfit of level 105 appropriate gear that is sufficient for a player to engage immediately with Mordor content.
Miscellaneous
- The warsteed cosmetic bundles will be included with the Ultimate Fan Bundle.
- For those who are Lifetime account holders, the VIP codes from the Ultimate Fan Bundle can be given to someone to use. They are NOT bound to your account.
- The 10 slot expansion for Shared Storage will be in addition to the current maximum (currently 270).
- There will not be any LOTRO points included with the expansion, however, there are plans for double bonus LOTRO Points in the future.
- The Ultimate Fan Bundle does include 500 LP, through the Game Time VIP code. (A code for a month of VIP Access)
- The Mordor expansion purchase does include the Group Content - Instance and Raid Cluster - update coming after release of Update 21.
- Mordor releases on Cordovan's birthday - also Harry Potter's birthday.
- The High Elf is not integrated into the concept of Mordor -- simply another race like the Beorning.
