Horse Race Quests

The first quest for horse racing was a different quest where you had to race against for other people, but that was changed in 2011. The first races, which are now defunct, were introduced in 2009, but I couldn't find the old quest detail in Lotro-Wiki. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pinkfae (Contribs • User Talk).

I'm pretty sure they were introduced earlier than that. The first festival horse I remember getting was the Harvestmath Horse in Fall 08, but apparently Summer Festival 2008 had the Lithe Horse for a measly 6 tokens (and the history of the page backs that up as accurate - the data on the race has timestamps from August 08). -- JnK (talk) 23:34, 25 May 2012 (EDT)
I was looking around at guides on the 'net for the races. I found that the race changed some time in 2009. I based the additions of the quest to the festival from when the quest information was added to the Lotro-Wiki site via the "view history" tab. I'm thinking that the name of the quest was changed in 2011, but the quest it self didn't. I also know the only place you were able to race horses originally was in the Festival Homes in Bree-land. The Delving Fields race track was added at a latter date. I'm going to change the Bree one to 2008 and the Shire one to 2009. --Pinkfae (talk) 06:49, 26 May 2012 (EDT)

Stomp-a-Shrew

Based on a blog post from March 23, 2011 [1] and a youtube video added April 5, 2010 [2], I'm guessing the Shrew quest was added in 2010 not 2011. The information for it being 2011 was based on the the year the quest information was added to the wiki. --Pinkfae (talk) 07:08, 26 May 2012 (EDT)

Hedge Maze Quests

Based on the Spring Festival 2009 article this version the maze was added in 2009. Some other quests related to the maze were added later. Off of my own memory, I do recall the maze being added before the stomp-a-shrew was added. --Pinkfae (talk) 07:18, 26 May 2012 (EDT)

Uncertain add-dates

I just want to flag for me being uncertain of two things:

  • Are the "added nnnn year" an important piece of information? Would a "New" thing be better and it is removed the next year? I am not against having useful information, but having too much is not good either, but I am fine with whatever.
  • Are we absolutely certain about the dates? Remember that some NPCs and quests have been around but have simply been missing, we cannot base all information on the creation date or by comparing different years with each other assuming they were 100% accurate ;)
