Is there anyone that is actively playing monster play? We need some screenshots of the different characters and more depth information. --Blakborn 02:49, 21 March 2007 (PDT)

I've captured some stuff for the dog looking monster. Just waiting for some time to enter it it ==Hinney 09:15, 21 March 2007 (PDT)

I think we need to drop the word "play" in Monster Play

i.e. Characters  <-> Monsters
     Classes     <-> Monster Classes
     Traits      <-> Monster Traits
     Skills      <-> Monster Skills

etc.

Meaning that you can have a character and a monster ... and Player vs Monster Player is what you do with them. --Hinney 15:19, 24 March 2007 (PDT)

  • Agree, didn't like it myself, but got on with it for the time being... --Xander 15:22, 24 March 2007 (PDT)
  • I think we should keep 'play' in there, since just monster may let people think we are talking about creatures/monsters, the things we kill all the time. --Blakborn 02:58, 28 March 2007 (PDT)

Q - Can anyone who is been playing MP for a while tell me if there is some kind of story behind the quests? And can the controled zones be conquered and transfered to opposing force, caus its says on the map by who the area is controled. Would be fun if there is a real strungle to control all off Ettenmoors. (forces who are smaller get stronger, so things stay equal) --Blakborn 02:58, 28 March 2007 (PDT)

New Monster Play Layout Proposal

This is my idea on a new monster play layout schema to organize the Monster Play Information. Before going into this in too much detail let's look at organizational tools as well.

Navigators: 3 different "looks" for the navigators will be desired.

  • Monster Play
Generic "look and feel" for any monster play information (locations, NPC's that are quests for one side, targets of the other, etc...)
  • Freeps
Navigator that is specific to Free People information (titles, quests, items/rewards, etc...)
  • Creeps
Navigator that is specific to Monster Player information (titles, quests, etc...)

  • Category:Monster Play -- Master Category. *ALL* article links removed except as listed.
  • Category:Freeps -- Free People Master Category. *ALL* articles removed except as listed in that area
  • Category:Creeps -- Army of Angmar Category. *ALL* articles removed except as listed in that area
  • Category:Monster Play Locations -- listing of Monster Play Locations *ALL* articles removed except as listed in that area
  • Category:Monster Play Ranks -- category containing *ALL* rank information.

To be Continued

I have a really quick question

On a few of the monster play related pages, I've noticed what seems like an ability for player to pull their own forces to help them in a fight. How is this done? Master Storm 03:50, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Major update in the works

I'm working on a major update of the Ettenmoors "stuff".

I have a new "Monster Play" section User:Magill/Sandbox-7

I noticed that much of the information existent was from the original Ettenmoors, before several significant updates and changes took place. T Simple things like the fact that everything is now lvl 65, not 50, NPC stats, etc.

Game play has also been modified, and is about to change again with the coming release of Isengrad.

I have compiled a "complete" (more than it used to be) list of FREEP quests... User:Magill/Sandbox-3

Hopefully, I'll get most all of this together and live by the end of June.

I suspect I'll work within the outline above as it seems pretty complete. Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC (talk) 13:47, 26 June 2011 (EDT)

Level Requirement Contradictions

The "What is Monster Play" section claims a level 40 minimum to play a free peoples character in MP, while the "Playing for the Free Peoples" section claims that the level 40 minimum was changed to level 80 in Riders of Rohan. Please clarify.

Because I have not been into MP play I do not know but it could very well be that somebody forgot to update both pages after that change. As this is a wiki, feel free to rectify anything you find in error, or add further information if necessary; there is no membership or such required for editing any article around here :)

The Moors in general is getting "more love" in Update 10. So, more changes are in the works. However, yes, the level is now 80. Minimum, for both Creep and Freep.

Updated FTP and Premium access

The original information that the Ettenmoors access time only counted while in the Ettenmoors was incorrect. I updated to show the fact that the 20 Mithril Coin 6 hour Ettenmoors access time continues to count down while the character is logged in. It does not matter if you are in the Ettenmoors or not.
