Description
Snowmane, the foal of Lightfoot, was the noble white steed of Théoden, King of Rohan. Following the King's rousing from his despair, he would spend much of the remainder of his life upon the back of Snowmane. It was upon Snowmane that Théoden rallied his warriors for their legendary charge from the gates of the Hornburg during the Battle of Helm's Deep, as well as for the Ride of the Rohirrim from Dunharrow, through Far Anórien, to Gondor. None among the Host of Rohan could outpace Snowmane or Théoden King during their charge onto the Battle of Pelennor Fields, and even the Black Serpent fell to Herugrim . Alas, Snowmane was felled by a foul morgul dart of the Witch-king, and fell on top of his master, crushing him.
Snowmane, the great war-horse of Rohan, would later be buried at Snowmane's Howe upon the Pelennor, a small memorial honoring his role in the battle.
