Description
A Maia of Aulë. Known in Valinor as Curumo, he was sent with four others (Olórin, Aiwendil, Alatar, and Pallando) to Middle-earth in order to aid in the fight against Sauron. Due to his mastery of the lore of rings he was made the leader of the White Council and known as Saruman the White, until in his arrogance he changed to Saruman of Many Colours and betrayed The White Council. Of all the Istari sent to defeat Sauron he was the only to outright betray the Valar.
In The Lord of the Rings Online, Saruman is found at Isengard in the tower Orthanc. Having betrayed both the Valar and Sauron he seeks the One Ring for himself, and needs it desperately to survive his precarious position.
