Bestowal dialogue

'There's work that needs doing in the kitchens! You think this army feeds itself? There's meat roasting, gruel boiling, and bread baking day and night!'

The Uruk-hai grins, baring his fangs.

'Not that you'll get any of that. Prisoners have their own ration. Barkh'll have something else for you to do, I'd wager. To the kitchens with you! They're in the south-west wall of the cavern, and if you don't make good time, I'll tan your hide!'

Background

There is work to be done in the kitchens beneath Isengard.

Objective 1

Barkh manages the kitchens in the south-west wall of the cavern beneath Isengard.

Your overseer wants you to report to the kitchens beneath Isengard for work.

Barkh: 'Another worm from the surface! I'm of a mind to chop you up for stew...give the boys something they can sink their fangs into!'
Your Uruk-hai overseer grunts sadly, shaking his head with disappointment.
'It's like that, is it?' responds Barkh. 'Too bad. It's not worth my head to cross the Old Man, and once he's done with you, you won't be fit for stew anyway. Take this rag and clean some of the slop off the floors. You might as well be good for something! Once you're done, squeeze that rag out into the slop bucket there.'

Objective 2

Piles of slop litter the floor of the kitchens beneath Isengard.

Barkh has given you a rag and the unenviable task of cleaning up after the Uruk-hai.

Objective 3

  • Use the slop bucket in the kitchess to squeeze out the dirty rag

The slop bucket is in the kitchens.

Barkh wants you to squeeze out the rag you used to clean up the slop into the slop bucket in the kitchens.

Barkh: 'Can you do anything right? The slop bucket is right over there! Squeeze out that rag I gave you into the bucket!'

Objective 4

  • Return the dirty rag to Barkh

Barkh is waiting to speak to you in the kitchens beneath Isengard.

Barkh: 'You think you're done? You're not done until I say you're done! Clean up more of the slop, then dump it into the slop bucket again!
'You work for Barkh, and Barkh says there's more to be done!'

Objective 5

  • Clean up pile of slop in the kitchens (0/6)

There is still slop to be cleaned up in the kitchens beneath Isengard.

Objective 6

  • Use the slop bucket in the kitchens to squeeze out the dirty rag

The slop bucket is in the kitchens.

Barkh wants you to squeeze out the rag you used to clean up the slop into the slop bucket in the kitchens.

Barkh: 'Don't give me that dirty rag! Squeeze it out in the slop bucket! If Sharkû didn't want you, I'd have your head for that!'

Objective 7

  • Return the dirty rag to Barkh

Barkh is in the kitchens beneath Isengard, waiting to speak to you.

Barkh: 'You could not have done that more slowly if you tried, worm. Still, the slop had to be cleaned, and you cleaned it. THere will be more later. There's always more!'
Barkh bares his teeth at you.
'It's time to feed the prisoners. Scoop out some feed from the slop bucket and carry it to the dungeons in the norht-west wall of the main cavern. Empty the slop into the bucket by the cells. And be quick about it. The thralls have got to eat! Ha! Ha!'

Objective 8

  • Get some slop from the slop bucket in the kitchens

Barkh wants you to get some slop from the slop bucket in the kitchens and bring it to the bucket in the dungeons. The entrance to the dungeons is in the north-west wall of the main cavern.

  • Carry the slop to the bucket in the dungeons
Orc Warrior says, "Get that slop out of here! You want the dungeons? They're to the north!"
Orc Warrior says, "The dungeons is north of here!"
Orc Warrior says, "The dungeons is to the north!"
Orc Warrior says, "Get that slop out of here! The dungeons is to the north!"
Orc Warrior says, "That slop going to the dungeons? It's north of here!"
Orc Warrior says, "You looking for the dungeons? You want to go north!"
Orc Warrior says, "Stop wasting time! The dungeons are up this hill!"
Orc Warrior says, "That slop goes to the dungeons? Up the hill!"
Orc Warrior says, "The dungeons is up this slope! Get moving, and get that slop out of here!"
Orc Warrior says, "What smells so bad: you or that slop? Get it out of here, up the hill!"
Orc Warrior says, "Slop for the dungeons? Up the hill behind me!"
Orc Warrior says, "You looking for the dungeons? Up this slope, and make it quick!"
Goblin Warg-tamer says, "That slop must be for the prisoners, eh? The dungeons is to the west of 'ere!"
Goblin Warg-tamer says, "Slop, slop! To the dungeons, west of 'ere!"
Goblin Warg-tamer says, "That slop smells terrific! I could do with some! But it's for the dungeons, that way."
Goblin Warg-tamer says, "Slop, slop, slop! Dungeons is to the west!"
Goblin Warg-tamer says, "Slop for the prisoners? Just that way, to the west!"
Goblin Warg-tamer says, "The dungeons, the dungeons! Just to the west there!"
Uruk Warrior says, "Follow the right-hand passage. You'll find the slop bucket down that way."
Uruk Warrior says, "More slop? We feed these prisoners too often! Follow the right-side passage."
Uruk Warrior says, "Stick to the right-hand passage. I left the bucket by the horse-smelling fool."
Uruk Warrior says, "Stick to the right-hand wall. I left the bucket down that way."
Uruk Warrior says, "You want the right-hand tunnel. That's where the slop bucket is now."
Uruk Warrior says, "More slop? We feed these prisoners too often! Follow the right-side passage."
Uruk Warrior says, "Stick to the right-side passage. Slop bucket's down that way, by the horse-man."
You tip the slop into the bucket, and it makes a sickening sound

Objective 9

One of the prisoners has tried to get your attention. You should talk to him.

Baldgar: 'Hey, <race>! Do you know anything about what is going on outside? I am a man of Rohan, Baldgar by name, and I was separated from my men not far from the river. Can you tell me if Rohan is still safe?
But there are too many guards around, and it is not safe to talk.

Objective 10

Your Uruk-hai overseer wants to talk to you.

Uruk Overseer: 'No talking to the prisoners! You are no less a captive than they, and if you weren't in my company, you'd be thrown in a cell to rot. Remember that. One word to Fâsh, and you won't even have the benefit of stretching your legs.
'A different word, and you might call those locked in the cells the lucky ones!'
