The Heavy Iron Collar needed to start this quest drops randomly from wargs. They have been obtained in Dol Dínen and in Rhunenlad, other locations may be possible. Note: once the collar is obtained, this quest requires neither level 41 or a fellowship to complete, just travel safely to the Treasure Hunters' Camp and speak to Will Widdup.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue You recall the legend of the Warg-king Krithmog. A Ranger called Amarion is knowledgable about this legend. Make your way to Amon Raith and show Amarion the iron collar you discovered. Background Legend tells of a powerful Warg once offered the ability to rule all Wargs in return for service to the Iron Crown. A collar fashioned of iron was made and powerful sorceries used to enchant the item. The great beast was slain and the collar removed, but tales of the beast have been passed down through the ages amongst the Men of the North Downs. Objective 1 Show the collar to someone at the Treasure Hunter's Camp. Will Widdup is at the Treasure Hunters' Camp outside of Fornost City in the northern North Downs. You should speak with Will Widdup. Will Widdup: 'Ah, this collar is a fell thing. But it is good that you have found it. 'This is Krithmog's collar, lost for half an age. I gather it has been passed from warg to warg, and you fond it by chance. It was once used to bind Krithmog to the service of Angmar. Perhaps it will once again bind him, but this time to his doom.'
