Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'Did you hear that, <name>? That howling sound has been spooking the horses and making the men uneasy. 'We have not yet located the wretched beast, but I know I would like to see the noise ended. The more sleep we get before the march, the better. 'Let me know if you find it while you’re out in the Noman-lands. It sounded as if it was coming from the hills west of here.' Background Mablung, Captain of the Rangers of Ithilien, would like you to find the source of the howling sound that has been bothering the men in the Camp of the Host. Objective 1 Find the source of the Howling sound He thought it sounded like it was coming from the hills to the west of the Camp of the Host, in the Noman-lands. Mablung has asked you to find the source of the howling sound. Faroth says, Grrr... You have found the source of the howling sound! It's not a fearsome beast at all, but a scared and possibly injured hound. Does he belong to the rangers? You should try to calm it down and then return to mablung. Objective 2 'Calm the frightened hound The source of the howling sound was actually an injured hound. You should find a way to calm the injured hound. Objective 3 Return to Mablung Mablung can be found in the Camp of the Host, on the northern edge of North Ithilien. The hound has returned to the Camp of the Host. You should return to Mablung and tell him of your success. Mablung: 'So this was the source of the howling. Ah, Faroth, old boy! When you went missing, we thought you were gone for good.' Mablungs looks closely at the hound. 'He must have run afowl of those Orkish traps. It must have been a lucky scrape, for he is well on better already. I think he will be on the lookout for those, from now on! 'In truth, I have work for this little ranger. He has taken a like to you, it seems. Perhaps you wold go with him on his rounds in the Noman-lands, <name>?' Objective 4 Complete quest 'Sniff Them OUt' with Faroth Complete quest 'Hidden Dangers' with Faroth Mablung would like you to work with Faroth to complete quests in the Noman-Lands. If you should get separated from your hound, blow the Hound-calling whistle to summon him back. Objective 5 Complete quest 'stalker of the Scrublands' with Faroth Mablung would like you to work with Faroth to complete quests in the Noman-lands. If you should get separated from your hound, blow the Hound-calling whistle to summon him back. Objective 6 Talk to Mablung Mablung can be found in the Camp of the Host, on the northern edge of North Ithilien. Now that Faroth's work in the Noman-lands is finished, you should return to Mablung. Mablung: 'VEry good! You two have completed all the work I have for you, his day. Faroth has proved himself quite capable, hasn't he? He deserves some praise!]' Objective 7 Pat Faroth because he's a good dog. Faroth deserves some praise from all his hard work! Why don't you give him a pat?
