Walkthrough & Notes
|
- This quest is given once per character, the first time they attend the festival. If you're looking for the repeated quest dialog, it is here: Quest:The Frostbluff Theatre.
- Attend a play inside the Frostbluff Theatre. Don't leave until the quest mentions you attended a play.
- Three people in the audience will be randomly chosen to play parts in the play. If fewer than 3 people are present use the /regional channel to announce how much time there is before the next performance in hopes of others joining you.
- Before the play starts, you should visit Frostbluff Theatre Concessions Hobbit, and buy a stack of Frostbluff Flower Petals and Frostbluff Rotten Fruit. During the play you can use these items to use on an actor. Several Deeds are involved, which reward you with even more Yule Festival Tokens and Titles.
- If you are <AFK> then you will not be chosen to act in the play.
- If you are chosen to act in the play, the simplest way to control whether you get boo'ed or applauded is to type /cheer and /cry separately into your chat window. Then you can select the chat window, press up-arrow (just like DOS command line) to go back to your emotes, and press enter to emote. /cry will cause boo's, /cheer will cause applause. Both of these will help the audience to complete deeds.
- As you repeat the quest, you will follow the play better and have a chance to become oriented. It takes some practice.
- If you are in the audience (or even on stage), an upward glow indicates applause (throw flower petals), and a downward glow indicates boo (throw rotten fruit). Selecting the person can be tricky if they are behind scenery or in the wings.
- Tip: The audience must be selected for your /cheer emote to generate applause. Wait until you get the message "it's your turn" or something similar, select the audience (behind and above the crowd of other players), and emote. You cannot throw flowers or fruit at yourself. Try and anticipate who will emote next. There are about 10 seconds to select the right person and select the flowers or fruit after boo's or applause.
- Tricky things: If you stand at the forward edge of the stage, it is very difficult for your fellow actors to select you and throw flowers or fruit. Step back a few steps so they aren't struggling to complete their actions. There are three places where you can stand that help people to select you more easily. In the center on the raised platform, inside the tree (jump into it), and on top of the mailbox. Turning off floaty names will help you identify actors by the round circle above their heads. If someone is standing at the edge of the stage, you must turn your camera so you are looking sideways at the stage to have a better chance of selecting them, or zoom in to first person. You must face your target to throw flowers or fruit, movement assistance will not automatically turn you to face them.
