This quest is offered by Orchalwë during the guided tour through Annúminas. ATTENTION: Do not finish objective 2 of Quest:Orchalwë's Mission until you have read the info in the quest-chain box. If Orchalwë is with you, he will offer this quest when you arrive at Gaerannon. [18.4S, 71.4W] Inspect seven of the pillars in the immediate area, then speak to Orchalwë again to complete the quest. (To reach Gaerannon, travel west from the campfire at Echad Garthadir past the Dúnedain guards, bearing right and heading down the slope towards the water.)

Bestowal Dialogue 'When the warriors of the kingdom of Arnor would come home from battle, they would etch the names of the fallen into these pillars, a permanent memorial of those who gave the greatest sacrifice. 'I spent many of my younger days wandering between these columns, my fingers sliding over the names etched into them, wanting to be one of the heroes of the past. 'Take some time and read the names that are left before they join their fallen companions, lost in time.' Background When they returned from a battle, the Men of Arnor would etch the names of the fallen into the pillars of an ancient building. Objective 1 Read the names etched in the pillars (0/7) Orchalwë has asked you to read the names etched into the pillars. Objective 2 Talk to Orchalwë Orchalwë wants to speak with you about the etched pillars. Orchalwë: 'One day, we will rebuild this temple, and those who have fallen to preserve it will be etched into the new pillars.'
