Bestowal dialogue

'These leaves can be crushed to make a powerful remedy. Do you smell the clear sap? It is the blood of the mountain, striving to cleanse itself of corruption.

'Take this phial, <name>...I have drained enough sap to save those dwarves. If we can rally them in time, our two parties should be able to rid Ered Luin of the horrible fate that awaits it.

'I will not stand idly by while these fair, clean lands are poisoned with death! Go well, my friend. Hopefully, I will see you again when we meet to put a stop to this madness.'

Background

Before Dwalin and the Longbeards can hope to join the Elves in stopping Gormr from allowing the fell-spirits to corrupt Ered Luin for good, the poisoned dwarves must be cured of their terrible sickness.

Objective 1

Dwalin stands by his sick dwarves in Frerin's Court, below the Mirkstone Tunnels.

You should bring Elrohir's remedy to Dwalin and tell him of the dire warnings of the fell spirit you encountered in the cave.

Elrohir: Go quickly to Dwalin, friend <class>! There is not much time. The only hope for saving this land is to stop Gormr from going through with his plans for tonight's ritual.'
Dwalin: 'Can this be? By what miracle do you return with a draught to cure my poor dwarves? You are a valuable friend to have, <name>!
'Please, don't let me get in your way. Go ahead and give that remedy to the sick dwarves.'
You should give the remedy to Dwalin's folk

Objective 2

  • Administer Elrohir's draught to Bogi

The sick dwarves are in Frerin's Court, huddled on the ground and dying from the poisonous spring from which they drank.

You should administer Elrohir's draught to the sick dwarves.

Dwalin: 'Bring the remedy to my folk.'
The healing effects are immediately apparent

Objective 3

  • Administer Elrohir's draught to Selur

You should administer Elrohir's draughte to the sick dwarves.

Dwalin: 'Bring the remedy to my folk.'

Objective 4

  • Administer Elrohir's draught to Olin

The sick dwarves are in Frerin's Court, huddled on the ground and dying from the poisonous spring from which they drank.

You should administer Elrohir's draught to the sick dwarves.

Dwalin: 'Bring the remedy to my folk.'

Objective 5

The sick dwarves are in Frerin's Court, huddled on the ground and dying from the poisonous spring from which they drank.

You should administer Elrohir's draught to the sick dwarves.

Dwalin: 'Bring the remedy to my folk.'

Objective 6

  • Tell Dwalin that there is now hope for the dwarves of his party

Dwalin is in Frerin's Court at Thorin's Gate.

You should speak with Dwalin about how to proceed now that his dwarves have received a remedy.

Dwalin: 'Now that there is hope for the sick among my company, we can deal with the more pressing matter at hand. What is this nonsense about Gormr wishing to raise Skorgrím from the dead?
'Dead is dead, in my opinion. You can't bring someone back! It sounds like Gormr has gotten some bad ideas in his head, and Ered Luin has become corrupted in his hands. We'll take it back, <name>!'
