The Doorward
We have victory this day, but it was not assured. Were it not for the deeds of Háma, doorward of Théoden, all might have been lost....

Background

In the moments before dawn, Háma performed his greatest service for Rohan and his king.

Objective 1

  • Triumph against the Orcs that threaten the Hornburg

Háma stands in the gate-house. He has only one door to guard, the door that safeguards his king.

Dawn had not yet come.
Orcs streamed into the gate-house, eager to spill the blood of Théoden.
One man stood in their path: Háma, the doorward of Théoden.

Objective 2

  • Draw upon reserves of strength by focusing on the glory of Rohan

Háma must draw upon thoughts of Rohan if he is to persevere.

Háma thought of the glory of Rohan, and his strength was renewed.

Objective 3

  • Stand against the Orcs that threaten the Hornburg

Háma has only one door to guard, the door that safeguards his king.

Objective 4

  • Draw upon reserves of strength by focusing on the House of Eorl

Háma must draw upon thoughts of the House of Eorl if he is to persevere.

Háma thought of the House of Eorl, and his strength was renewed.

Objective 5

  • Survive against the Orcs that threaten the Hornburg

Háma has only one door to guard, the door that safeguards his king.

Háma stood with his back to the door, and prepared for the end.

Objective 6

  • Draw upon reserves of strength by thinking of your father Léoferth

Háma must draw upon thoughts of his father Léoferth if he is to persevere.

Objective 7

  • Live as long as you are able, for Théoden and for Rohan

Háma has only one door to guard, the door that safeguards his king.

"I will not retreat from here the tread of a single foot!" he cried aloud.
"A doorward I was!" he shouted, "and a doorward I remain!"
Even as he fell, he heard the horn of Helm Hammerhand echo in the Deep.
"Forth Eorlingas! Ride to victory!"
