A Need for Words
"The men atop the wall need words of inspiration if they are to stand against Saruman's armies."

Background

The Men of Rohan stand ready to defend the Deeping Wall, but Aragorn fears the vast extent of Saruman's forces will cause them to despair.

Objective 1

Aragorn is atop the Deeping Wall, and wishes to speak with you.

Aragorn: 'I see now the extent of Saruman's forces, and it is vast. How will the Men of Rohan keep their courage in face of such an army?
'We need words of inspiration to raise the hopes of these defenders and give them the strength to fight. Gather the defenders on the wall and send them here, and I will do what I can to inspire them.'

Captain:
Aragorn: 'I see now the extent of Saruman's forces, and it is vast. How will the Men of Rohan keep their courage in face of such an army? I wait still for allies from afar, but none come. Where is Erkenbrand? Where are the men who fought at the Ford? We wait, but still no allies come to our aid.
'You are a Captain, <name>, and know well how to inspire a man's heart. We need words to raise the hopes of these defenders on the wall and give them strength to fight. Gather the defenders on the wall and send them here, and we will do what we can to inspire them.'

Objective 2

  • Gather worried defenders and send them to Aragorn atop the wall (0/8)

Worried defenders can be found atop the wall, and Aragorn has asked you to send them to him for encouraging words.

Captain:
The words of Galadriel before her Mirror surface in your memory.
'A long vigil, waiting for an ally that does not come.'
'Your words must inspire, for time passes too slowly behind the walls.'
'They cannot stand forever, the walls, nor the Men under your command.'
'The dawn seems far off, Captain; is it your fate to see it?'

Objective 3

  • Talk to Aragorn atop the wall

Aragorn stands atop the wall, ready to speak to the worried defenders.

Aragorn: 'Thank you for sending them to me, my friend. Now to fill them with hope and with the fire of battle!'

Captain:
Aragorn: 'Thank you for sending them to me, friend Captain. Now we must fill them with hope and with the fire of battle!
'What should I say to them, <name>?'

Objective 4

  • Help Aragorn to bolster the spirits of the defenders on the wall

The men of Rohan need inspiring words if they are to stand against Saruman's forces.

Aragorn says, "Men of Rohan!"
Aragorn says, "You know <name>, a <class> of no small skill."
Aragorn says, "And you know me, Aragorn of the Dúnedain."
Aragorn says, "But we are not the reason Saruman is going to lose this battle!"
Aragorn says, "No, Men of Rohan!"
Aragorn says, "On this night, Saruman's armies are going to fail because of you!"
Aragorn says, "The army of Saruman numbers in the thousands."
Aragorn says, "The time has come to fight for your land!"
Aragorn says, "The time has come to fight for your king!"
Aragorn says, "Men of Rohan!"
Aragorn says, "The time has come for victory!"

Objective 5

Thurketel stands atop the wall. Did Aragorn's words help him recover his hope?

Thurketel: 'You choose your friends well, <name>. This Dúnadan has me believing we might survive this night, after all!
'I am ready for Saruman's armies! Indeed, I feel like I could teach the Wizard himself a lesson with my blade, a lesson so sharp he would soon regret waging this war!
'Thank you, <name>. My heart stirs for battle!'
'Aragorn: 'We have done what we can, <name>. I hope it will be enough.'
