Quest Chain Wildermore: Writhendowns
Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue

'So much death! My family drowns in it, <name>. I would give anything to see my fallen sons and grandsons alive once more.

'When the snows first started, three of my grandsons rode out into the Writhendowns and were killed by an unknown creature. The rumours of their killer did not live up to the creature's true form: the giant that murdered the men in Scylfig.

'This was many weeks ago, and now there are memorial flames marking the places where their bodies were found. Will you light the flames for me? I am too old, too broken-hearted, to ride out.'

Background

Gárwig has lost many sons and grandsons of late, both at Scylfig and earlier, when the snows first started to fall. He would like you to tend to the memorials placed at the sites where his grandsons fell.

Objective 1

  • Find the memorial dedicated to Alferth
  • Light the memorial flame for Gárwig's fallen grandson, Alferth

The memorial dedicated to Gárwig's grandson Alferth can be found in the southern Writhendowns.

You should light the memorial flame for Alferth to ease the grief of his grandfather.

Gárferth: 'I bid you welcome! Cyneberg told us of your valour at Scylfig.'
Edsig: 'Cyneberg told us that you defended Scylfig like it was your own home. I thank you for that, <name>.'

Objective 2

  • Find the memorial dedicated to Wilsig
  • Light the memorial flame for Gárwig's fallen grandson, Wilsig

The memorial dedicated to Gárwig's grandson Wilsig can be found in the southern Writhendowns.

You should light the memorial flame for Wilsig to ease the grief of his grandfather.

Objective 3

  • Find the memorial dedicated to Cuthard
  • Light the memorial flame for Gárwig's grandson, Cuthard

The memorial dedicated to Gárwig's grandson Cuthard can be found in the southern Writhendowns.

You should light the memorial flame for Cuthard to ease the grief of his grandfather.

Objective 4

  • Speak with Gárwig

Gárwig can be found in Lornsettle.

Gárwig: 'I thank you for your kind gesture, <name>. Nothing will ever replace those brave boys...men, I suppose they were, but they must be given their due honour in death.
'Poor boys, poor boys. I remember when they played at my feet...'
