Bestowal dialogue

'Have you returned to see the king? It is good that you have done so, but you should also speak to Bósi. The loss of Khazad-dûm will be treating him badly.'

Background

You have pledged to lend your aid and your adventuring skills to Durin's Folk and fight on their behalf in Mordor.

Objective 1

Bósi is in the Hall under the Mountain, grieving for the loss of his cousin and the failure of the Iron Garrison.

Foldgráf: 'Have you returned to see the king? It is good that you have done so, but you should also speak to Bósi. The loss of Khazad-dûm will be treating him badly.'
Bósi: 'I do not know what I should be doing, <name>. The loss of Khazad-dûm weighs heavily upon me, and dwells in my thoughts. Was there anything we could have done to be ready for such an attack? It seemed as if the mountains themselves sought to expel us!'
Bósi sighs heavily, and shakes his head.
'I must speak to King Thorin. Brogur and I were entrusted with the leadership of the Iron Garrison, and my cousin is slain and cannot present himself to the King under the Mountain. I must take the responsibility and speak for both of us. Will you come with me, my friend? I would value your support as I await the punishment that must come.'

Objective 2

Bósi is in the Hall under the Mountain, grieving for the loss of his cousin and the failure of the Iron Garrison.

Bósi: 'Yes, let us go to the king. I will accept responsibility for the Iron Garrison's failure.'
This is a Solo quest and cannot be completed with a Fellowship.

Objective 3

  • Talk to King Thorin III in the Hall under the Mountain

Thorin III, King under the Mountain, is at his throne in Erebor.

King Thorin III: 'You have my thanks, <name>, and so does Bósi. Indeed, all who stood against the traitor Dómor and the terrible creature that enslaved him have the thanks of the King under the Mountain.
'It is clear to me now that the tale Dómor wove in Mordor was a lie. The ruby over which Eirek and Mogi quarrelled was an invention of the traitor; the helm was the true treasure they found, and when he placed it upon his head he came under the dominion of Lachagar.
'Eirek and Mogi deserve better treatment than they received at Dómor's treacherous hands. Return to Mordor and find their final resting place. Search first at the location Dómor went after you encountered him; I believe he offered to check that spot to prevent you from seeing it yourself.'

Objective 4

  • Search far south of Lûghash, by the slope of Orodruin, for the missing dwarf heroes

His treachery revealed, you should return to Dor Amarth and search south of Lûghash, close to the slope of Orodruin, to find the dwarves slain by Dómor.

King Thorin III: 'The tale Dómor wove in Mordor was a lie.
A small cairn rests on disturbed earth

Objective 5

  • Examine the hasty gravesite

You have found what appears to be a hasty gravesite in Dor Amarth. Was this the location of Dómor's treachery?

HASTY CAIRN "This pile of stones appears to be a hastily-fashioned cairn."
A brief examination reveals that two dwarves are buried here: Eirek and Mogi

Objective 6

You have found the location where Dómor hid the bodies of the dwarves he betrayed and killed.

Laurík: 'This is the location where Eirek and Mogi were slain, <name>. We cannot bring them out of Mordor now, but this grave is too shallow to serve. They will be burned dwarves, as it is sometimes done when no tombs can be made. Let the smoke of the burning serve as a warning to traitors.
'Return to King Thorin and tell him what is being done for them. He will wish to know.'

Objective 7

  • Talk to King Thorin III at his throne on the Hall Under the Mountain

Thorin III, King under the Mountain, is at his throne in Erebor.

Laurík: 'Return to King Thorin and tell him what is being done for them. He will wish to know.'
King Thorin III: 'You found the bodies of Eirek and Mogi? Dómor paid for his treachery, but I am still displeased that he proved corruptible. We pride ourselves on our resilience, but there are such evils in the Land of Mordor that even dwarves are not safe from their foul touch.
'I thank you for your efforts on behalf of Durin's Folk, <name>. May your adventure continue, and bring you glory and treasure alike.'
