Haldir:
'The gift for Lady Arwen has been found, <name>. Lady Galadriel herself holds it and awaits your arrival. Though it is Glorfindel's betrothal gift, the honour is yours to deliver it.'
Elrohir:
'A gift for Lady Arwen awaits you in the Court of Lothlórien. It is Glorfindel's betrothal gift to her, but the honour is yours to deliver it.'
Background
Travel to the places where Elves dwell, seeking word of Glorfindel and gifts for Aragorn's taking the throne.
Objective 1
You should ask Lady Galadriel in the Court of Lothlórien for Arwen's gift.
- Galadriel: 'A true gift is one which sings of the receiver in the voice of the giver, it is said. By that mark, Glorfindel has chosen the truest of gifts.'
- Lady Galadriel produces two exquisite flowers, and only after a moment do you perceive that they are brooches, wrought of silver filament, green and violet silk, and finest cloth-of-gold, and not real flowers at all. She returns them to a silken box, which she hands to you.
- 'Take these to Arwen, <name>. She will tell you something of what they mean to her, if she wishes.'
- GIFT FOR ARWEN "The Gwedluith, or Bond-blossoms, are finely wrought flowers made of fine silken cloth and silver and gold wire-work."
Objective 2
Gift in hand, it is time to visit Arwen in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell, once more.
- Arwen: [Elf: Speaking the traditional words of a gift-giver in the Elven tongue, you present the gift to Arwen. She opens the silken box and you complete the formal speech, indicating that the flowers are from Glorfindel.] [non-Elf: Arwen meets your eyes as you approach her, and you present her with the gift directly. She opens the silken box and you explain the flowers are from Glorfindel.]
- 'I know what these are and what is their meaning. It is a good and a beautiful thought Glorfindel has given me in this gift. Come, <name>. Walk with me a spell.'
Objective 3
- Walk with Arwen to the bridge
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
- Arwen: 'To the bridge up ahead. Come, friend.'
- The air is sweet and clear, this Elven retreat fine to behold
Objective 4
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
Talk to Arwen upon the bridge.
- Arwen: 'Much will come to pass, <name>. It will come soon, swift as a diving hawk, swift as the sun's last descent into night. Much will be gained, and much, too, lost.'
- Arwen laughs, softly, sweetly, and a little sadly.
- 'You are thinking, I am sure, that much has already happened since first your journey began. Nor are you mistaken! You have seen much, but soon all Middle-earth shall see more. And while you have been through many lands and among many people, I have been here and among only my own.
- 'To the left now, where that statue stands.'
Objective 5
- Walk with Arwen to the left statue
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
Go with Arwen to the left past the bridge, where the statue stands.
- Arwen: 'Let us go there, where the statue stands by the water.'
- Arwen looks up at the statue and you are stricken by a strong resemblance
Objective 5
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
Talk to Arwen by the statue.
- Arwen: 'Indeed, I have tarried in Rivendell some of years now, though it is not counted overlong by the reckoning of [Elf: our] [non-Elf: my] people, <name>. These last tens of years, I have lived here in anticipation of a promise, waiting to learn if fortune should decree it held or broken. That brief time has been both as an eternity and a single breath to me.
- 'Shortly, we shall set forth for Gondor, as you know, and shortly thereafter, when we reach that land, I shall become one with the treasure of my heart. He will be king and I queen, like Lúthien and Beren, whose love and tale is etched upon our hearts. Much gained, yes, and much lost.
- 'Come, let us go farther down the path.'
Objective 6
- Walk with Arwen some more
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
Go with Arwen farther down the path, through the narrow pass.
- Arwen: 'Come, let us go on through the narrow pass ahead.'
- The world opens out before you, a breeze rustling the leaves of the trees
Objective 7
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
Talk to Arwen under the trees before the second bridge.
- Arwen: 'An age is ending, <name>. Can you feel it? Can you feel the calling of the sea? True, it is not ended yet, and in the counting of Men and dwarves, [Hobbit: and, yes, hobbits] it will not be over for some modest span to come. [Elf: But we, <name>, may look back and remember, may we not? I remember the years upon years] [non-Elf: But for me, to have known centuries ... centuries] before my heart was given, moving freely from Imladris to Lórien, from Lórien to Imladris, like a carefree minnow between pond and stream. Then to know that nothing shall be as it was.
- 'Do you know what these flowers are, <name>? They are lover's tokens, and they are wrought with uncommon skill so that a sympathy exists between them, as if they were tied by an unseen thread no matter the distance. If anything should befall the owner of one flower - should the owner grow ill or die - then the other's flower will wilt, wither, and crumble. Thus may my Aragorn always know that I am well and whole, and I may know the same of him.
- 'It is a great comfort and a constant reminder of our doom and of endings-to-be.'

- Walk with Arwen some more
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
Go with Arwen onto the second bridge.
- A distant look comes across Arwen's face
Objective 9
Arwen has asked you to walk with her in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell. If you get separated, ring the bell.
Talk to Arwen upon the second bridge.
- Arwen: 'I am going off to dwell in the lands of Men, and I shall become as they who dwell there, <name>. I will gain my heart's desire and I will be queen of the heirs of Númenor, at the dawn of a new age. But I will lose the home I have known. I will lose so many faces dearest to me, whom I leave behind and who themselves will make even greater journeys, soon enough. I will lose the roots-deep certainty of days unending. Where I go, days will be numbered, and so also lives.'
- Arwen stops and meets your gaze with level eyes that are filled with many things.
- 'I thank you for walking with me, <name>. I thank you for listening kindly and without judgement. Sadness and joy are like two streams joined into a river, and the finest of Elven weavers could not part them now. But I have a journey to prepare for, and time will not tarry.
- 'I will see you in Gondor, friend? I hope that I do. I should like that very much!'
