Bestowal Dialogue

'I spoke briefly with Halbarad, and if I had business within Isengard before now I count it double. We must find if Lothrandir still lives within the Ring, <name>. Let Gandalf speak with Saruman for weeks, if that is his desire; my thoughts are of my kinsman. I have not seen him for many years, but Lothrandir has been a friend for longer than that and I will not abandon him.

'Let us ride along the road to Isengard! I am most curious to see what it is we will find.'

Background

Many purposes now collide within the Ring of Isengard.

Objective 1

  • Ride along the road north to Isengard, and remain alert

Aragorn has asked you to ride along the road to Isengard, and to keep your eyes peeled as you go.

Aragorn: 'We have several purposes now within the Ring of Isengard. May they all come to successful conclusion!
'Ride north along the road to Isengard, and stay alert! We do not know what we will find as we approach Saruman's lair.'
A curious stillness covers the land, and pools of water stand near the road

Objective 2

Gandalf stands by the Pillar of the Hand, on the way to Isengard.

Gandalf: 'Isengard has been much changed since last you beheld it, <name>. You may not recognize it. I dare say Saruman himself does not, though he brought it upon himself.'

Objective 3

  • Ride north to the gate of Isengard

Gandalf has warned you that you might not recognize Isengard since last you saw it.

The very walls of Isengard have been damaged by some mighty force

Objective 4

You have found Merry and Pippin at the gate of Isengard.

Merry: 'Hello there!'
Pippin: 'Hello there! It's been a long time, <name>! I hope you are well.'
