This quest can be started just east of Hrimbarg. Rending Fissure-worms drop the wanted scales and are found throughout Southern High Pass, east and south of Thorgest's dwelling.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'Fissure worm-scales look like they would make strong armour for the Elves of Rivendell.' Background Thorkell has an important shipment of worm-scales that he has promised to the Elves of Rivendell as they prepare for the possibility of war with Angmar. Objective 1 Collect Fissure-worm Scales (0/12) The worm-caves are to the south-east of Thorgest's dwelling. Fissure-worm scales look like they would make strong armour for the Elves of Rivendell. Thorgest: 'I am afraid the shipment I promised the Elves was quite large. You will need a fair bushel of scales before I can fulfill it, but they are simple enough to harvest in the caves to the south-east.' Objective 2 Bring Fissure-worm Scales to Thorgest The worm-caves are to the south-east of Thorgest's dwelling. Fissure-worm scales look like they would make strong armour for the Elves of Rivendell. Thorgest: 'Excellent, <name>, that should be enough scales to satisfy my clients in Rivendell.'
