Bestowal dialogue

'Hail, <name>. I have heard much of your deeds from my people, and from the good Elves with whom I travel. I bid you welcome to our encampment. You may rest here from the darkness, for the Galadhrim keep it at bay.

'This is a strange place we have landed in; the shades here are troubled. If the Necromancer had ruined this place, I do not think it would feel so disturbing. Nay, some other factor played a role in the collapse of this village. The curiosity of the Elves, however, is not raised by mortal affairs, and I am here to aid them. I cannot peer into the matter as I would wish, however.

'You are not bound to the Golden Host, <class>. Will you find out what has come to pass in this strange and troubled town? The shades stir as if roused, but they do not behave as most Oathbreakers do. I believe there is some grim history here that has been overlooked by every tale. There is a graveyard yonder -- perhaps you should begin your search there.'

Background

Idhrenfair, a Ranger who travels with the Malledhrim, shows more curiosity than the Elves for what has come to pass in the abandoned town. The shades that stir here are strange, and Idhrenfair would like to know the history of Audaghaim.

Objective 1

  • Read the first grave-stone

The graveyard of Audaghaim can be found south of the Haunted Inn in the Dourstocks.

Idhrenfair has asked you to search for any clues as to the history of Audaghaim in the town's graveyard.

Idhrenfair: 'There is a graveyard to the south of here; perhaps you should begin your search there.'
Gravestone: 'Here lieth Fritigern, age 31, who perished from Natural Causes on July 2, TA 2461.'

Objective 2

  • Read the second grave-stone

The graveyard of Audaghaim can be found south of the Haunted Inn in the Dourstocks.

Idhrenfair has asked you to search for any clues as to the history of Audaghaim in the town's graveyard.

Gravestone: 'Here lieth Hachulf, age 19, who perished from illness on June 30, TA 2461.'

Objective 3

  • Read the third grave-stone

The graveyard of Audaghaim can be found south of the Haunted Inn in the Dourstocks.

Idhrenfair has asked you to search for any clues as to the history of Audaghaim in the town's graveyard.

Gravestone: 'Here lieth Beremud, age 41, who took his own life on July 4, TA 2461.'

Objective 4

  • Read the fourth grave-stone

The graveyard of Audaghaim can be found south of the Haunted Inn in the Dourstocks.

Idhrenfair has asked you to search for any clues as to the history of Audaghaim in the town's graveyard.

Gravestone: 'Here lieth Vatigas, age 27, who fell to his death on July 1, TA 2461.'

Objective 5

  • Read the fifth grave-stone

The graveyard of Audaghaim can be found south of the Haunted Inn in the Dourstocks.

Idhrenfair has asked you to search for any clues as to the history of Audaghaim in the town's graveyard.

As you near this gravestone, you see that it is completely blank

Objective 6

The Haunted Inn can be found north of the graveyard of Audaghaim in the Dourstocks.

You should return to Idhrenfair with your discoveries.

Idhrenfair: 'Peculiar. It sounds as though all those who were buried around the same time died of different causes. Why would this place be haunted by Oathbreakers if the deaths were things like sickness and natural causes? And the blank gravestone does not make sense at all.
'The ages, too, give me doubt. These were young folk. The deaths were so close to one another. Something is amiss. I wonder if there are more clues about the town....'
