Orodost (Sindarin for Mountain Fortress) is a landmark within Vale of Thrain, in Ered Luin. [20.2S, 102.3W]

In the south-west of Vale of Thrain the road to Sarnúr run through a narrow pass and there the dwarves once built a strong fortress. However, centuries ago it fell into despair and lay desolate. Recently goblins from the south have claimed it their base and are gaining control of the valley nearby.
