Location

Hrímil Frost-heart is also known as the Herald of Winter. She is found in The Anvil of Winterstith in The Withered Heath. ^{[42.7N, 35.8W]}. With her frozen hordes, Hrímil is the last remnant of the Great Enemy.

In the Elder Days, she served Morgoth freely.

After Morgoth's defeat in the War of Wrath, his lieutenant Sauron attempted to compell her to do his will.

Failing in this Sauron bade Karazgar imprison her.

This did Karazgar do, as described in in the  Lost Lore: Abyss of Mordath

With the Fall of Sauron and Barad-dûr, the Abyss of Mordath was opened allowing Himril to escape.
