Gaerthel can be defeated without too much trouble if proper care is taken when aggroing him. He attacks immediately after his brother, Gaerdring, is defeated (she stands several steps away).
While fighting him, arms and barrow wights will appear from the sides to help him. They pose little threat, but can be dangerous if not dealt with quickly. Gaerthel should pose no problems for an experienced party.
