Wargs are sometimes used by goblins as mounts to extend the range of their attacks against villages and settlements, for goblins are loathe to strike further than they can march in a single night and still return to the dark safety of their caves before morning comes.

Wargs have long been a threat in Eriador, but their numbers seem to have increased greatly of late. Perhaps they are coming down from the Northern Wastes with the wolves -- or maybe they have come through the passes to the East, where they have long ranged freely between the foothills of the Misty Mountains and Mirkwood beyond.

This deed is available at level 29.

In the Lone-lands, they can be found at Minas Eriol, south of the Forsaken Inn. Also several roam north and south of the road between Ost Guruth and the Last Bridge. There is also a cave with eight wargs west of Iorvinas at ^{[32.6S, 34.4W]}.
In North Downs, they can be found at Rhunenlad and Haudh Eglan ^{[7.6S, 49.5W]}, north-east from Amon Raith. Also several can be found along the foothills in Nan Amlug East by leaving Esteldin and heading north towards Angmar. In the Misty Mountains there is a good concentration of level 41 at Whitcleft^{[22.6S, 1.1E]}.
