The Warning beacons of Gondor and the Great West Road in Anórien

Description

Anórien is the region of Gondor along the northern foot of the White Mountains along the Great West Road where the Warning beacons of Gondor were built to relay the call to the Rohirrim in Edoras. It stretches from the Mering Stream in the west and the Mouths of the Entwash in the north to the border of Gondor at the Anduin. With mild winters and warm summers, it was through these tall grasslands that Théoden King and the Rohirrim rode to the battle on Pelennor Fields.
The westernmost tip of Anórien consists of the plains of Talath Anor.

Lore

The name Anórien's is connected with that of Anárion, Elendil's younger son and brother to Isildur. He came to Middle-earth with his father from Númenor, and was slain in the Siege of Barad-dûr.
