Aearil
Description
Aearil is referenced as a mariner who died in the Ice-bay of Forochel in Third Age 1975, as one of those who perished in the rescue of Arvedui. He is, however, not mentioned in Tolkien's works.
In the Epic quest line, from the end of Book 12, he is described as the friend of Laerdan, "...mighty among the ship-captains of Círdan." Laerdan holds it for likely that Aearil knew about the Narchuil and that he somehow made it not to sink in the depths with the ship and all men aboard.
