Quest List

Hi Joshbob, I just wanted to explain why I rolled back you otherwise nice edits of that quest list for Barad Dhorn in the Lone-lands. Your indentation was probably perfect, had it been on a quest-only page. But it is not. That page is transcluded into yet other pages, and those pages do not use indentation, while quest-only pages might do.

A fair question is why? In a try to keep specialized data closest to what it relates to, but the further away the less details. Hence your edit, which I am confident was OK, make sense at quest pages, but not on location or NPC pages. Similarly, a quest page does not include details on what you can use the rewards for, but brief-but-sufficient details on where to find mobs etc. I understand you are new around, no harm done, but I wanted to explain so you don't sit there being mad at me ;)

PS: I may add that when doing the lists, such as the one I reverted, we go to a great extent to ensure the list itself is in exactly the right order: usually order on level, then by name, finally reorder so that quest dependencies are OK even though not always lined up one after the other. In other words, it should be possible to start at lowest level quest A and finish with highest level quest Z without blocked at some dependency. Would a person need the fine-print it is found at each quest and also at quest-chain pages. DS. -- Zimoon 18:15, 12 October 2012 (EDT)

Nice move, couldn't have done it better myself ;) -- Zimoon 06:00, 13 October 2012 (EDT)

Rune keeper icons

I added a category to your Rune-Keeper Icons - Category:Rune-keeper Effect Icons Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC - talk 02:06, 30 July 2013 (EDT)

Just wanted to explain why I rolled back your changes to rune-keeper armour skills. While the changes you list are currently in BETA, they are not in live yet, and in fact may never be in live. Only changes to the live game make their way into regular pages.

There is a tag for creating pages relating purely to BETA, but bear in mind that Turbine have recently restated that any breach of the NDA, even on third party sites, may result in action up-to and including account suspension. (having a different Turbine account name and lotro-wiki account name is probably a good insulation against any such action). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Snarpel (Contribs • User Talk).

Redirect Pages

Rune keeper items and Ruins of evendim - any particular reason for these? Sethladan 22:44, 29 September 2013 (EDT)

I'm puzzled by these as well, and also by the new Tower of orthanc. We don't really need every possible capitalization of every page - if you're trying to search using lower case letters it will find the correct page, and any direct links should be correctly spelled and capitalized anyway. Unless you have a good reason for them, I'm going to delete these redirects, to avoid the unnecessary page bloat. -- Elinnea (talk) 09:12, 1 October 2013 (EDT)

Scribe a New Ending

Did the icon for the skill Scribe a New Ending change? If so, you can simply upload a new version of the file at File:Scribe a New Ending-icon.png, rather than creating a whole new file (:File:Scribe a New Ending1-icon.png). If you use the old location, the file name can match the skill name, and you don't have to update every place the file is used. -- Elinnea (talk) 23:31, 30 October 2013 (EDT)

Icons - .png vs .jpg

In cleaning up "uncategorized files," I noticed that you had uploaded a number of Lore-master icons as .jpg files. Icons are standardized as .png files.

See: Help:Images for more details.

I've converted all of that group of Icons from jpg to png format, and also identified them as "<name>(trait)-icon." Mainly because there are still all of the old icons and skills around.
