Corina’s Journal

I decided to start this journal after I finally reached Bree-town and realized I wanted to remember more about what I have done.

My story really starts when I managed to get sucked into the Assault on Archet. I managed to help the people of the town prepare for the day and did my small part to help defend the town. Ranger Amdir was wounded the night I first got involved.

When I returned from Archet, I spent time in the Shire exploring the countryside, helping people when I could.

While in the Shire, I got involved with a ranger named Halros. He had me investigating the Goblins that have moved into the Shire.

So far we have determined that there is a connection between the Goblins and a stranger, which may have something to do with goings on in the quarry.

I then went exploring in the Bree-Lands and have revisited Archet and visited Combe and Staddle in the east and Buckland in the west.

I am helping the ranger named Torandan to find Amdir, the ranger who helped us when Archet was attacked. To do this, I infiltrated the Blackwold gang and met the leader; I was directed to help Amdir escape from them. Amdir was in someone’s thrall and ran away; however, I did help Sara Oakheart to escape as well. Amdir killed Torandan and is beyond saving.

I am to talk to Mundol in the Mustering Cave of the Rangers.

All this time, I have also been working on my crafting:

  • As a tailor, I have mastered my apprentice level skills and have been tested and deemed proficient in my journeyman skills <The Thickest of Skins, Part I> <The Thickest of Skins, Part II>. I am currently working to master my journeyman skills and to gain proficiency in my master skills.
  • I have also mastered my journeyman skills as a forester and prospector.

Bree-Land

Getting Acquainted with Bree-town

I have spent some time wandering the streets of Bree. Men build such huge piles of stone to live in, so confusing.

I wandered into the town hall and spoke with two people:

Near the Hunter Trainer, I discovered the Bree-town Hunting Lodge. It looks as though, with some work, I could gain access to their services.

While wandering in the back streets, I ran into Addie Wheatley. She asked me to find her sons, who went treasure hunting in the Barrow-downs (Quest:Addie's Missing Sons).

Thomas Thistlewool asked me to deliver a letter to The Forsaken Inn (Quest: Thistlewool's Sullied Name).

Lofar Ironband accosted me to ask if I would help him recover a blade he had just made--he thinks one of the other smiths stole it (Quest:A Dwarf-made Blade). I found the smith, one Kenton Thistleway--he admitted to stealing it to save his family from the brigand Nate and told me where I could try to retrieve it from Nate (Quest: Getting the Blade Back).

I followed the Scholar's Walk to the Scholar's Stair Archives, where I met several people:

As it was getting dark, I decided to see about this haunting. Much to my amazement, I found a Lost Shade behind the Auction House. It said something about finding a ring by the black rock; fortunately, I remember seeing a particular rock that might serve. Finding the ring has helped the shade; however, his companion (also and oath breaker) is somewhere in the northern Barrow-downs and the ring will help me find him (Quest: Shield-brother).

Continuing on, I got to The Prancing Pony and spoke to several people:

Delivering Messages

It seems a run out to The Forsaken Inn might be good for my digestion, so its off to deliver Thomas's letter. On the way I stopped off to give the message to Joy Bloomer and try my hand at some fishing.

When I delivered Thomas's letter to Anlaf the Forlorn at the inn, he asked me to look for one of his supply carts that was heading into Bree (Quest: Missing Supply Cart).

I found the destroyed cart near a goblin camp on the edge of the marshes and the corpse of the driver near by. When I told Anlaf, he asked me to petition Chief Watcher Grimbriar in Bree for help in getting supplies (Fair Trade with Bree). While Grimbriar is collecting the supplies, he asked me to hunt some Howling Yellowfang wolves in Bree-land northeast of the marsh; by the time I got back, he had the supplies ready and on the way.

Level 19

Another Delivery (pipeweed this time) brought me back to Adso's Camp, on the road between Bree and Buckland. I realized I had some hunting left over for Roger Hawkling (Quest: Wolf-pelts) and Adso Haybank asked me to collect some mushrooms (Now to Eastfarthing).

When I finally came back with the pelts and mushrooms, Adso asked me to drive off the brigands that have been forcing him to pay protection (Quest: Payment in Full). That was nice, I was able to help Adso and Chief Watcher Grimbriar at the same time.

Before going back to Bree-town, I wandered into the northwest woods to retrieve Dob's pack.

Fighting Brigands

I went back to Chief Watcher Grimbriar and he send me on to ranger Saeradan to help him pursue the brigands Rangers and Rogues. He asked me to find some clues from the brigand leader camped near Thornley's farm, and, when I returned with a letter, he asked me to meet a spy of his to get any news (Quest: Shadow of the White Hand).

While waiting for nightfall, I followed Kenton's instructions; however, I found Nate was dead and the blade had been snapped. I brought it back to Kenton, who asked me to take it to Lofar and plead with him to make another. He said he would make another if Kenton does some of his odd jobs instead (Quest: Forging a New Blade)--of course, I ended up wandering around scrounging materials for Kenton (some of which are in the Barrow-downs).

After nightfall, I spoke with the informer and he gave me some notes for Saeradan. Next on the agenda, I had to infiltrate Sharkey's camp and bring back any letters I find Sharkley's Plan. The notes I found indicate they are trying to join forces with the Orcs and Saeradan wants me to eliminate some of the Orcs coming down from the north (Quest: Orc-slayer).

On the way north to find the orcs, I ran into Cam Applewood in the Horsefields. He asked me to check up on an old dwarf that wandered by the other day (Quest: Horses for Hire). When I found Oddvar (the dwarf), he asked me to help him find his lost pack ((Quest: The Forgetful Dwarf). Unfortunately, the orcs that had the pack stole his notes from it and it is up to me ... (Quest: Stolen Notes). Oddvar asked me to report to Lofar in Bree, which I will do after checking in with Saeradan.

Saeradan next assigned me to attack camp of Sharkley's men in Andrath, a ruin that controls the road south (Quest: The Vale of Andrath).

Master Journeyman Tailor

Emma Rosethorn, at the horse farm, asked me to hunt turtles for her (Quest: Snapper Soup). I found the lake in northeast Bree-land to not only be a good source for turtles, but also an area rich in Rich Iron Deposit and Yew Branches.

Into Barrow-downs

I admit I have been putting this off, but it is time to head into the Barrow-downs. I have a number of tasks that lead me there.

I collected all the items that Kenton Thistleway needed in payment for the new blade. Unfortunately, his daughter was kidnapped by the brigands and he needs me to rescue her (Quest: A Blade for a Life).

I found Amlach, one of Addie's sons, and returned his journal to her. She asked me to find her other son (Quest: Find Malin).

I reported back to Chief Watcher Grimbriar after killing wights. He asked me to kill wights in the Great Barrow (Quest: Purging the Dead).

I returned to the shade and he asked me to destroy the Bone Man within the southern Barrow-downs (Quest: Bone Man).

I reported back to Newbold Leafcutter after collecting carved stones for him. He sent me back to the Barrow-downs to dig up more lore (Return to the Barrow-downs). When I brought those back, he sent me deeper into the downs (Ruins of Cardolan).

Level 21

Lone-lands

The Forsaken Inn

I moved out into the lone-lands to help people in and around the Forsaken Inn. This included helping to beat back the orc and goblin incursions and to hunt the local wildlife.

Level 22

I also met and have been helping the ranger Candaith fight the orcs near Weathertop.

Level 23

Ost Guruth

I was sent to the east to Ost Guruth to help the people who live there.

North Downs

Trestlebridge

Mayor Graeme Tenderlarch sent me on to help the people of Trestlebridge. I began working for the people there, but the orcs were a bit strong for me.

Level 24

Lone-lands

Ost Garuth

I went back to the Lone-lands to see what I could do for the people in Ost Guruth, east of Weathertop. I started by battling the orcs and creatures near the encampment.

Level 25

I have been hunting the eastern lone-lands for a while now and helping out around Ost Garuth. During my time there, I met with Radagast the Brown, who started me looking into the Red Swamp.

Chapter Book 2: The Red Maid
1-2

Radagast sent me to investigate the bog-prowlers in the swamp; I collected some moss from their nests for study. He then had me hunt some wights in the swamp. <>

Level 27

North Downs

Amon Raith

I have come back to the North Downs to continue what I started before. In addition to helping the people of Trestlebridge, I have found a number of refugees in Amon Raith being protected by the ranger Amarion.

Level 28
Master Expert Tailor

Esteldin

I moved my base of operations to the Ranger camp at Esteldin. In addition to helping the rangers there, I also worked with the Elves down in Meluinen and the Dwarves up in Othrikar. Lately I have been hunting in Nan Amlug East and helping the Earth-kin refugees there battle their brethern that have turned to evil.

Level 32

Evendim

Oatbarton

The folk in Ost Guruth sent me on to Oatbarton, north of the shire, to help them; their problems are making it impossible for them to send much needed supplies. I discovered that they are starting to feel the touch of the same problems that are affecting the North Downs and Lone-lands.

After helping the people in Oatbarton, I was sent north to the Ranger camp in Tinnudir. On the way, I stopped at a glass blower's house overlooking Dwaling; the town has been taken over by brigands.

Level 34

Tinnudir

I arrived in Tinnudir and spoke with the people in the camp. Both the rangers and other folk at the camp had things for me to do. I was initially sent south and east to deal with some of the pests in the area and some local tomb robbers.

One of the Rangers sent me to find Aragorn in Rivendell. Aragorn has asked me to help him reforge the sword Narsil, which brought me back to Tinnudir to help recover the Silithar, and Adament stone of power.
