Description
Pistols is a man from the realm of Gondor. He is a tall man of grim strength and is happiest when in the middle of leading forces against an enemy in battle. Despite this, it is not unusual to hear a humorous yet dry remark from him time to time, and he would prefer diplomacy to an all-out war. It is rare to find Pistols not wearing his usual set of heavy armor. Trained at a young age to become a Captain, he is an inspiring presence on the battlefield and has a natural leadership and affinity for tactics. The only thing that rivals these are his skills in the battle himself. Many enemies have fallen to his blade and even Boromir of Gondor said that Pistols may be one of the few Captains to truly rival him.
Biography
Born in Minas Tirith, Pistols yearned to go outside its grand walls at an early age and see the world out there. By age 6, he was already learning how to use all types of weapons, such as halberds, clubs, bows, though he felt most at home with a double handed blade. At age 16, he was considered to be one of the finest sword fighters and Captains of his time, with an almost unparalleled affinity for leadership and tactics . At age 19, Boromir himself challenged Pistols to a mock battle with wooden blades. The fight lasted for a long time, with neither fighter giving weakness for a long time, but Boromir eventually defeated the young man. It was a duel Pistols would never forget.
At age 25, he soon left Gondor behind and journeyed into Eriador. After an adventure in Archet and the nearby town of Combe, he made a stop in Bree and encountered Aragorn II, under the name of Strider. Pistols pledged himself to the heir of Elendil and they went together with other Rangers to stop the transformation of Amdir. Pistols and Torthann, another Ranger, arrived too late. Amdir was already transformed into Cargûl. The duo successfully defeated the fallen Ranger and journeyed back to Bree. Aragorn soon sent him after Tom Bombadil in the Old Forest. After completing a few tasks for Tom, Pistols journeyed into the Great Barrows, tracking the Witch-King. It was a trap, and the Witch-King left a wight named Sambrog to defeat him. The wight and Captain fought for a long time, with the Captain soon giving into exhaustion, but was saved by the timely arrival of Tom. He went back to Bree and could not find Strider. The bartender told him that someone else was waiting for him. He then met with Gandalf the Grey.
Gandalf informed Pistols that Strider had left Bree and that you should seek out Radagast the Brown. The Captain headed to Saeradan, a Ranger, who then directed him to the Ranger Candaith, who was rumored to know the location of Radagast. In return for clearing Weathertop of Orcs, Candaith promised the Captain a direction to the evasive Wizard. Defeating the uruk leader, his band of orcs and goblins, and a mountain-troll, the two successfully recaptured Weathertop. Pistols then departed to find Radagast at the Eglain stronghold Ost Guruth.
