In my quest to go over the quests, I've encountered the crafting introduction ones. What's special about these is that there is a great diversity depending on your race and on which NPC you talk to.

Currently these quest pages list some variations explicitly, some are on the talk page, and some are missing entirely. Since I find it quite difficult to overview all this, and decide on how to merge what might be missing at the same time, I'll just use this page to extract all quest text information as I'd do on my own. What will need merging with the pages and how the merge should be done -- I'll just leave this decision for the future (and hopefully for somebody else).

Right now my race is Elf. I'm not introducing an additional 'race' axis just yet.

Notes

  • Although different quest starter NPCs refer to different people, the one in the objective goal is always the same for the race. All of them work though.

Introduction to Farming

Bestowal dialogues

Golphedinir:

'I have always marvelled at the ability of the other races to prize food in the manner that they do.
'I have asked one of our promising novices to watch over and guide any new farmers towards learning the very basics of the profession. His name is Ialadir, and he is near the farmland here at the terrace.
'Speak with him, and he will teach you the very basics as he progresses in his own studies.'

Alfwin and Loftur and Morór:

'It looks as though you have strayed a little ways from home, Elf, and you want to learn to farm? I'd prefer swinging a hammer, but if you prefer a hoe, who am I to judge?
'Speak with Imir in the greenhouse. He has offered to teach all the newest farmers the basics.
'You can find the greenhouse at the top of the stairs leading toward Thorin's Hall. It will be to the right of the main entrance to the Hall.'

Blossom Proudfoot:

'Well then, you wish to set out on a career of being a farmer? I find it admirable whenever I see one like yourself trying your hand at such a noble craft.
'Granted, we hobbits are the finest farmers in all the land, but we are certainly not above teaching our craft to those willing to learn.
'Over by the farmland, you will find Largo Proudfoot. He has offered to teach anyone new to farming the very basics as part of his training to become a true expert at his craft.'

Jill Brushwood:

'Well look at you. I do not often see your folk here, and when I do, I always find it a bit queer. Well, hobbits less so because of the hill.
'Oh, I am sorry, you wish to know more about farming? It just so happens that there is a fine farmer near the farmland by the name of Ponto Underhill. He has offered to teach those new to the profession the basics of the art. Speak with him, and I am certain that he will help you.
'Good day, Elf.'

Introduction to Scholarship

Bestowal dialogues

Golphedinir:

'The study of the past is a pursuit that provides us with insight into our elders and the ways that they chose.
'I have asked one of our promising novices to watch over and guide any new scholars towards learning the very basics of the profession. Her name is Thavroniel, and she stands near the workbench here at the Terrace.
'Speak with her, and she will teach you the very basics as she progresses in her own studies.'

Alfwin and Loftur and Morór:

'It looks as though you have strayed a little ways from home, Elf, and you want to learn about scholarship?
'It seems, then, that you have come to the right place.
'You want to speak with Makan here in the Craft Hall. He will be able to set you upon the path of scholarship.'

Blossom Proudfoot:

'You will find Hildibras Took near the workbench here in the Crafting Area.

'He is knowledgable in the art of scholarship and is awaiting the arrival of new would-be scholars.
'Speak with him if you are interested in learning and practicing the scholarship profession.'

Jill Brushwood:

'Well, look at you. I do not often see your folk here, and when I do, I always find it a bit queer. Well, hobbits less so because of the hill.
'Oh, I am sorry, you wish to know more of scholarship? It just so happens that there is a fine scholar in this very hall, still learning, but taking to the art very quickly. Her name is Anna Bullrush, and you will find her by the workbench in the larger room.
'Good day, Elf.'

Introduction to Weaponsmithy

Bestowal dialogues

Golphedinir:

'It is without question that the Elves have crafted the most elegant and noteworthy weapons throughout the ages of Middle-earth, and I am pleased to see that though we will soon leave this place, we will continue to focus on the arts which we have perfected in our time here.
'I have asked one of our promising novices to watch over and guide any new weaponsmiths towards learning the very basics of the profession. Her name is Dantlassil, and she stands near the forge here at the terrace.
'Speak with her, and she will teach you the very basics as she progresses in her own studies.'

Alfwin and Loftur and Morór:

'It looks as though you have strayed a little ways from home, Elf, and you want to learn to forge weapons meant for fighting back the darkness?
'It seems, then, that you have come to the right place.
'You want to speak with Hannis by the forge. He will be able to set you upon the path of weaponsmithy.'

Blossom Proudfoot:

'You will find Balbo Grubb near the forge here in the Crafting Area.
'He is one of the few hobbits that I know who has ever wanted to take up that pursuit. He may be a Grubb, but many often wonder if there isn't a little Baggins in him, somewhere in the family tree.
'Speak with him if you are intent on poking things with sharp objects.'

Jill Brushwood:

'Well, look at you. I do not often see your folk here, and when I do, I always find it a bit queer. Well, hobbits less so because of the hill.
'Oh, I am sorry, you wish to know more of weaponsmithy? It just so happens that there is a fine weaponsmith in this very hall, still learning, but taking to the art very quickly. His name is Bob Birchcutter, and you will find him by the forge in the larger room.
'Good day, Elf.'
