This page is about the game term. For other pages, see Terror

A terror is a form of crowd-control that can be cast by non-player characters and affects players. When applied, the player loses control over their character's movement and cannot use any abilities throughout the duration of the terror.

In appearance, a terror looks a lot like a fear applied to a mob, but there are some key differences:

  • A player affected by a terror will first cower, then run around aimlessly; a feared mob will always run in a straight line, away from the caster.
  • A terror cannot be broken by damage, nor by skills designed to break or prevent combat states (such as Blood Rage or Sign of Power: Righteousness); a fear can.
  • A terror does not slow the target's movement; a fear does.
  • A player affected by terror will have two effects on them: both Frost-fingered Fear and Feared; a fear only applies the latter.
