Cleaning to do

To be able to remove that category, lots of items will need to be migrated to the new Infobox template. Click the What links here link on the side when on the template page, over 500 pages to update! :) --Goingbald 18:40, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Great. I know this is a tough one but yes, old templates need to disappear. This should take priority after adding content or when you are bored with what project you are working on. Rogue 02:17, 8 July 2010 (UTC)


Resource Spawns

What should be done with these? 32 pages in Category:Resource Spawns now, using this old template, they shouldn't be considered "items" in my opinion. A new template just for these? --Goingbald 00:24, 9 March 2011 (EST)

Probably a good idea for a new template for resource spawns. Some of the "items" in there are doodads for quests. -- Starbursty 06:48, 9 March 2011 (EST)
I agree with Starbursty. Maybe a larger category of "Environmental Objects" or something of the sort, to include right-clickable quest targets, deed targets (Flowers of the Old Forest, The History of the Dúnedain...) resource spawns, and that sort of thing? Off the top of my head, it would need the following fields:
  • Image
  • Name
  • "Requires" (for proficiency or quest?)
  • Flavor Text
Locations could go in plain text outside of the template (like we have drop/quest/barter info for current items)...anything else? Sethladan 11:37, 9 March 2011 (EST)

I'm not sure we'd need a separate (pseudo)namespace just for these environmental objects - it's hard enough getting people to put things in "Quest," "Item," etc. :-P Sethladan 23:03, 9 March 2011 (EST)
Started a very rough-draft Template:Object as a possibility for all these "non-items." All it does is use Template:Item Tooltip, but only the parameters that we'd need for the objects in question. Feel free to add/tweak - I'll eventually take a few screenshots in-game and make sure things appear in the right place/color in the tooltip, if no one beats me to it, of course.
