Template:Obsolete

This is the template documentation for {{Obsolete}}. It is transcluded from Template:Obsolete/doc and may be directly edited there.

Usage

Use this template to identify pages whose content is obsolete. See Help:Obsolete for guidelines on what constitutes obsolete content and how to deal with it. This template inserts the banner below and adds the page to Category:Obsolete (unless a subtype is chosen, see the type parameter below).

For articles whose content is simply out of date, consider using {{Outdated}} or {{Expansion}} instead. Another possibility is to use {{Delete Page}} to suggest removing the page altogether.

Parameters

patchlink

(optional) Wikilink to the patch or expansion that rendered the content obsolete. If this is blank, the default is "Due to ongoing changes in-game..."

type

(optional) Anything here will display as is, with "page" as the default if parameter the is left blank or omitted. Using one of the types below will add the page to a subcategory of Category:Obsolete instead of the top-level category:

see_also

(optional) Anything here will display as-is on a line just below the standard text.

nocat

(optional) If non-blank, the template will not categorize the page in Category:Obsolete (or one of its subcategories, if a type is specified). Useful for demonstration purposes (such as this page).
