This is the template documentation for {{Lang}}. It is transcluded from Template:Lang/doc and may be directly edited there.
Usage
This template can be used as a shortcut to display translations of names and terms in the game.
Parameters
- 1
- The language. Not all languages in the game are well-defined or described yet, but here is a list:
- Adûnaic (Númenórean)
- Hill-man language (based on Scots Gaelic)
- Archaic Westron (based on Old/Middle/Early Modern English)
- Black Speech and Orkish (just Black Speech or Orcish/Orkish work as parameters)
- Bree-landish (based on Brythonic languages)
- Northern Mannish (based on Old Norse)
- Dunlendish (based on Welsh)
- Khuzdul (Dwarvish)
- Earth-kin language (based on Finnish)
- Easterling language (based on Uzbek)
- Far Haradrim language (based on Hindi)
- Lossoth (based on Finnish)
- Dunharrow language (based on Breton)
- Near Haradrim language (possibly based on Arabic?)
- Rohirric (based on Mercian Old English)
- Sindarin (Grey-elven)
- Silvan Sindarin (dialect used in Rhovanion)
- Quenya (High-elven)
One word keywords work, such as "Easterling", "Rhun", "Rhûn", or "Uzbek" for Easterling language.
- 2
- The translation, as opposed to the untranslated word. If the translation is given in the game, use that.
- lit
- Put a literal translation here, if it varies significantly from the standard translation.
- to
- Put any value into this parameter when translating to the chosen language rather than from it.
- noparen
- Putting any value into this parameter will hide the surrounding parentheses, for example if you want to have two translations side by side in the same set of parentheses.
