Are this and the Shrieking Dark-claw indeed different entities? In what way? They seem to share level at least. For quests, are any differences not rather from a quest-locality/zoning restriction where the quest is active only in certain zones but these creatures are indeed the same anyway, just at different sides of an area border? Is not Zirakzigil within Durin's Way, and within the same region, right? -- Zimoon 16:09, 8 October 2012 (EDT)

I took a look in the Morrovail area for the Class Quest Drops in Durin's Way and see a "Dark-claw" (53rd level, 1290 morale, 229 power) and "Lesser Dark-claw, Ally of Elder Morvuil-Guard" (52nd level, 982 morale, 224 power) in The Fanged Pit at 3.5s, 102.7w. Neither creature seems entered into the wiki; I didn't add simply to prevent further confusing the issue. Additional research by an LM is needed.
I had just come from Zirakzigil and did not see any bats of any kind. As far as I know, Zirakzigil is a separately mapped zone, similar to Foundations of Stone, The Shire, The Mirk-Eaves, etc. Zirakzigil is not an instanced or internal area within Durin's Way - it's the map zone next door. (Unless the muster horn and zone gate on the Zirakzigal map leads into an instance also called Zirakzigil.) -- Semicapable (talk) 21:17, 17 August 2013 (EDT)
