Quest Information
This message is pinned to the wall outside Laerdan's Chamber. You will only see it if you have the quest Vol. I. Book 14, Chapter 1: The Long Road South. It reads:

I have departed already from Rivendell and have taken with me the shards of Narchuil. I must return them to Narmeleth, or her mind will never be made whole.
