Item Information

You receive an Aria from the Valar that makes your character powerful enough to pass through the Black Gate of Mordor.
After using the Gift of the Valar (skill)-icon.png Aria of the Valar (skill), your character will instantly be raised to level 105 and transported to the Camp of the Host in The Wastes just outside Mordor.
NOTE: This item is included as part of the Mordor Expansion bundles.
NOTE: This item may be purchased from the in-game LOTRO Store using LOTRO Points, AFTER you have created your character and entered Middle-earth.
Until opened, the Package delivered is Bound to the Account. After opening, it is Bound to the Character.
The Gift of the Valar (skill)-icon.png Aria of the Valar (skill) can only be used after completing the Introduction Quests and gaining the Novice-icon.png Novice trait.
Alternatively, this can be accomplished by use of the Veteran Status: Level 5 upgrade.
Note however, the Aria of the Valar can then be used by a character of any level up to 104.

  • You need at least one empty Inventory Bag to hold the contents of the Blessing of the Valar Upgrade Package-icon.png Aria of the Valar Package - it contains 10 sub packages.
Note: "Use" the Aria of the Valar package multiple times until the box disappears. It will spawn multiple additional boxes. This will ensure that all of the items therein are now in your inventory and will allow you to consume them properly.

Package Usage

This will place 10 packages and Items in your inventory (itemized below).
You can then open the individual packages in any order, with the following points in mind:
  • Several require you to be at level 105, others require you to be level 50. Meaning, if this is a newly created character of level 5, you should first advance to level 105 before you attempt to open the individual packages.
  • Your Currrency Cap status - the package includes 3 giant piles of Silver Scraps worth five (5) gold, 400 silver.
  • Various Items cannot be equipped or used until your character has achieved certain levels -- level 30 (Virtues) or 50 (Weapons, Jewellery and Armour.)
  • Upon using the Gift of the Valar (skill)-icon.png Aria of the Valar (skill), your character will instantly be raised to level 105 and transported to the Camp of the Host in The Wastes just outside Mordor. At that point, unless you expend Mithril Coin-icon.png or have otherwise previously prepared your character (see below), returning to the Shire, Bree, Celondim, or Thorin's Hall is "a long walk".
  • You will also be naked (or with inferior armour), and must equip your new armour and weapons before engaging in combat! You cannot equip the Aria of the Valar Armour or Weapons until you have reached level 105!
Next you should:
  • Equip your various pieces of armour and jewellery
  • Select and configure your virtues and racial skills (Virtues are addiditive to any levels you already have.)
  • Expend your Class Trait Points on the Class Traits of your Specialization (105-5 100/2 + 2 = 52 base points)
  • Visit the vendors in the Camp of the Host or in Osgiliath (After Battle).
Osgiliath contains a Vault-keeper as well as an Auction House and a better connected Stable-master (Osgiliath After Battle)
Be aware: The Black Gate has not yet been destroyed nor has Sauron been defeated!
