Located in a narrow passage between Nan Tornaeth and North Trollshaws curious visitors may yet today find the remains of Bert, Tom and Bill, who Gandalf turned to stone. This is the place where Bilbo Baggins and his friends were kept in sacks by the stone trolls. However, Gandalf tricked them into arguing until dawn, when they turned to stone statues by the light of day. This is the true tale as told in The Hobbit and took place about 77 years ago.
