Tactical Information

Test of Will is a skill that can deal very nice damage if it crits. However, it is not very useful as DPS skill because its unreliability to crit and its restriction to The Ancient Master line, which main function is group support and is low in DPS. This leaves the main reason to use Test of Will: its stun. The skill causes one of the longest stuns of the Lore-master (only bested by the stun of Ents go to War) and has the advantage of a long range. It can be used to interrupt enemies, but is less suitable for this compared to skills like Light of the Rising Dawn and Blinding Flash that have a shorter induction. It is nice, though, to use Test of Will in general while fighting, since every second the enemy is stunned, they cannot attack you. You can alternate between Test of Will and Light of the Rising Dawn on creatures, applying a new stun skill after the 10 second Temporary State Immunity has worn off. In a fellowship, it is almost always better to save these skills for this purpose, as opposed to dealing damage.
